Have a main method to ctb but want to make sure it absolutely doesn't fail, to that end I intend to thrust a machete with a serrated edge through my heart as part of the overall act

Does anyone have any advice on where to impact, I know I will need to do it with some force and penetrate between the ribcage but any other advice or pointer to resources would be great

Truthfully the ribcage is really strong and I don't think a machete would going through it like you are thinking- I may be wrong, but my guess is that the rib cage is too strong for this to work.

I think I'm coming to conclusion too, I think something smaller might be more suitable as looking at the anatomy the sternum could be an issue too.

I have a couple of weeks yet to work it all out so will no doubt come up with something

I'll lead you down a path, but I won't get you all the way there...

Quite a few years ago, I read a book called Celebrity by Thomas Thompson. One of the characters needs to kill someone and does so with a knife to the chest. The book gives a pretty good description of how he does it. Although the book is fiction, his technique made anatomical sense.

I can tell you that if what I've read is correct, you are heading down the wrong path.

I won't tell you any more than that since that could be instruction, which I don't do.

I can tell you to find the book, though. It's a thick one but also a great read. It was also a miniseries in the 1980's on American TV.

Oh thank you, I will have a dig around and see if I can find it

Really useful reading recommendation
