dealing with long covid shit, and my blood work came back abnormal so now my primary doctor wants me to see MORE specialists. I just can't keep up. I don't have a car, so every visit to the doctor takes so long and is so draining.

it's really hard to care about my well-being while also wanting to be dead every minute of the day

Sometimes doctors are very intrusive, but that's their job and so you should consider doing what they tell you. Maybe you could try to get another doctor's opinion.

I hear you, I've had health issues for two years now and it's the lack of resolution is maddening. Not to mention the price tag.

I understand. I get anxiety from being in cars so commuting is so difficult, and its so tiresome total care of your physical needs when your in a bad place mentally

I absolutely trust my PCP and know he's right. It's just so tiring being sick because I can't get off work. So it's a 40 hour week, plus household chores, plus seeing all these doctors and doing all these tests??? insane.

Yes, it's so expensive. The specialist he wanted me to see is in the same practice, but is booked out for weeks. They refuse to refer me to another specialist unless it's an emergency (dying basically) because they don't wanna lose that sweet, sweet patient money. It's disgusting. I'm barely able to make ends meet and all the copays add up.

is it in one building at least? fractured my foot once. had to take a cab to see my pcp (which was
in the basement of the building). he makes me take another cab ride to get x rays. that building, was elevated about 3/4 floor. can't remember where the x rays were taken. no assistance btw like a wheelchair or crutches. so back outside. by this time my ankle was screaming. no chair waiting for a cab. cabbie was nice and helped me a bit. he must have been nervous because he just started driving. then sees a car coming and slams on the brakes which sent my foot crashing right into the partition. get to the pcp. he gives me some pills. i didn't ask what they were and took them right away. got home and the pain was getting worse and worse so i called the pcp to ask him how long it would take for the meds to kick in. guess what he said? 'please come back in and i'll write you a script! sorry for the rant. just wanted you to know i understood

At this point my brain fog and exhaustion is so extreme that getting out of bed is a major challenge. Researching and finding a doctor, making an appointment and actually getting there is too much. I'm already seeing one of the top specialists in the world for my condition. Until a cure is found there's nothing more he or any other doctor can do. I only have to see and pay him every six months for my drugs.

I'm so sorry that's awful!! I hate this world. No, they aren't separate buildings. I feel your pain. It's ridiculous they expect us to bend over backwards for health. I got a blood test the other day, which included a train ride and 15 minute walk one way. Got back to my work, only for them to call and yell at me for not giving them a urine sample!! no one told me they were testing my urine!! not even my doctor! so i had to pay more money for the train and do it all over again. I was exhausted.
