having trouble (charcoal)

not asking anyone to direct me on what to do, or tell me what to do, just need a little navigational help. To successfully pull off the charcoal method, is ALL I need the charcoal briquettes? And could I do it in my house or is it best to do in a car? I can't afford a tent, if I didn't have a walmart gift card I wouldn't be able to afford the charcoal either
If I have to do it in my car, where do I go? There aren't really many secluded places around me
