Fuck this stupid disorder it's ruining my life I'm losing so much opportunity and money because I just forget things and can't do anything. I juste discovered that I lost a precious jewelry that mean so much to me just because I put it anywhere without thinking it's stupid and not by itself a reason to CTB but the accumulation of everything is making me lose my mind

Hello, fellow ADHD-er here! 👋🏻
I completly relate to what you said, I always missplace important things and it annoys the fuck out of me. I hope you'll find the jewellery, in my experience, when you expect to find it less lol

I'm not an ADHD-er but honestly speaking i misplace my stuff often. And sometimes it's not easy to find. So, nothing to worry about.. Non ADHD-ers also do this.

fellow ADHDer and i can completely relate. I had a really important stuffed animal that I carried around all the time and at some point i just set it down somewhere and I completely forgot about it and I only realized when I got home. It's so, so frustrating to deal with constantly monitoring and managing a mental checklist just to try and make sure I'm not forgetting something and it makes me feel so stupid when I forget the same thing over and over again.

Part of my frustration also stems from people who don't have ADHD and brush off our forgetfulness as just something everyone does from time to time. I cannot describe the amount of frustration and anxiety I have about forgetting things all of the time and then the stupidity I feel when I still manage to lose something.

If you can, you might be able to make a few posts online in the local area and see if someone's found it. I wish you best of luck in finding it <3

Yes absolutely. It's actually the worst thing to affect my day to day life IMO as it completely disrupts my ability to function on a basic level in society. I couldn't finish highschool as a direct result of it and I can't count the amount of times I've cried because I can't stand to live like this. I understand the frustration and how hard it is, especially when you have these big emotional meltdowns which are seemingly "disproportionate" to what's actually happened (e.g. losing an item), but people don't understand that it's for everything and every day and nothing ever helps.

I know personally it exacerbates a lot of my suicidality and depressive issues. It absolutely plummets my self esteem to be apparently incapable of basic functioning for current society. To constantly be self-sabotaging without really meaning to, recognising it is going to happen and still fucking it up anyway.

This exactly. Personally, I really struggle to convince myself of any benefit to ADHD (at least for me personally). I cant stand the "it's a superpower!" talk - ADHD ruins my life. I'm on the highest dose of medication I can get, and it just means I can probably pull myself together enough to shower before my job. I do understand and recognize others might not feel the same though. I wish I could find something about it that didn't seem to only cause me misery.

Anyway OP I really get it. I'm so sorry. I wish there was some kind of tip or advice but I'm sure we both know there's not. It's a bit corny but you're really not alone. Your emotions are reasonable and understandable. I hope it passes and you can feel better soon.
