I've been thinking alot today about what I'd like to happen to my body after I ctb, such as burial method, funeral, etc.
Personally I'd prefer to find a natural way of decomposition but I haven't settled on anything yet.
What are some of y'alls plans if you've made any? Or just some ideas you've come up with?

I will let my family decide. I thought about asking that my family not have a viewing b/c I was traumatized by seeing my friend after she died of cancer. But after my bf ctb I needed to see his body. It still didn't feel real for a long time...it felt like I was having a nightmare I couldn't wake up from. Anyway, I will just tell my family to do whatever they need to do for closure.

I think I'd want to be cremated - but after I'm dead, I'm dead so I can't decide - so I'd guess it would be up to my family. I could state in a note I want to be cremated I guess.

Cremation, ashes I could not care less what people do and would not want a funeral because I see no point in them. They just feel like a waste of money to me but if my family wants a funeral for closure so be it.

I haven't made any plans. I know that sounds shitty. Part of it's being afraid of sending up any red flags. Another is not a lot of money to have any real estate planning anyway. I would prefer not to even have a funeral... especially a religious one but I'm sure family members will want one.

It doesn't sound shitty at all. I've tried to ctb a few times and have never prepared for it. Im just trying to put a lot of thought into this time. It's hard to work on without raising red flags, its a very rational fear

I've had an advance directive for years: no funeral or memorial, and the carcass can serve as dissection practice or whatever. If people want to spend money on me and/or think of me fondly they can do it while I'm still alive, thanks!

I hate the idea of being handled by other people after i die, and i find that having the fate of my corpse depend on other people's will and Laws a terryfing thought.
So i have been trying not to think too much about it.
With that being said,bi would definately like to be cremated and never to autopsied.
However, if i'm going to commit suicide there is a big chance that they will dice me up pretty good to figure out what happened. Even if i leave a note they will probably suspect.
But at least i won't feel anything, i hope.
As long as they leave my organs inside of my body and then burn everything i can consider myself lucky.

I am dead set against leaving any notes, even delayed e-mails, but now I think I've made my will by lucky coincidence.

My neighbour said they were making an urn, and I told them I'd also like to be cremated when I die. They might share this information when they see that the trash is being taken out, so to say.

I would like to be cremated mainly because it makes the whole thing cheaper, and I'd like to save money even after death lol. Hopefully my family will respect my wishes.

I'm finished with my family so I'm leaving a note asking that my body isn't put in their custody. The police can toss my sorry carcass in the dumpster.

I am prepaying my cremation, funeral, and final home. I plan to order the necessary forms in advamce (whatever I can get) and pay a notary a credit equivalent to the services that will be required (I know how much, I just did it for my late husband).

If they to do anything else (party etc) well it'll be on their dime and time. All my finances are in the same place and in order. Credit card is paid of plus I paid an extra 1000$ just in case between now and CTB. I'm ready. I just need to close my hisband's estate which means waiting for a cheque from the government.. and they are taking their sweet time. After that I'm a goner. Hallelujah.

I want to donate my body to one science university. They offer to pay for funeral fees and even the cremation of the body afterwards. I cannot yet because I still don't have an ID (i'm an immigrant) and I'm not senseless enough to make my mother pay for it- she barely makes more than the minimum wage.

I don't have the $$$ for a funeral. Oh well.

I'd want to be cremated at the very least. Just chuck it and burn it.

I really don't want a funeral. why do I want old family members I haven't seen for over 10 years anyway coming to say how much they miss me? seems pretty stupid to me. I want to be cremated rather than buried, I've suffered for a lot of my life from an eating disorder and the thought of getting rid of my body completely is very very nice. I would like my ashes to be scattered in the Sinai desert, Egypt...I lived in the country for about 6 months when I was 17 and used to drive down with my best friends from Cairo to the desert here and be out of our minds on drugs in one of the most beautiful places I have seen. I remember life being so beautiful at the moment.

I'd probably like to get cremated.
It's cheap and takes far less space than a traditional grave.
For my funreal i want everybody to celebrate.
Not because i died, but because i think people should celebrate the time we had.

Like Soul, I've had an advance directive for many years. I wish to be cremated and have my ashes spread at a place in nature that I love. As far funeral or memorial services, people can do what they want / need.

The UK situation...

I was always planning to 'just' leave my body to medical science.

But, be aware this is far from a 'just', as I just (excuse pun) found out.

It seems that you have to make specific arrangements with a specific hospital to accept you. And they have a list as long as your arm of reasons they will not accept you. If you have an autopsy being one of them. In short, they are not exactly crying out for corpses.

I gave up on it. Their loss not to have this magnificent specimen of human body...

Alternative is a 'Simple Cremation' and/or 'Cremation without Ceremony' which basically means from your ctb location in UK you will be taken to a local undertaker and cremated without ceremony and without anyone present. That sounds good to me. A no-fuss exit.

The possible down side for some is that you need obviously to leave instructions (in a Will, or some other way) for the above procedure to be set in motion. The Co-op Funeral Service seem very good and will cost about £1,300.

Has anyone seen the move 7 Pounds?

For those who don't want a funeral but have oblivious (to your suffering) families, you will inevitably have one, it is not for you but for them... hence I am pre-paying for a minimal one but definitely for cremation services and whatever else is necessary to "handle the body...
I wonder if it's possible to bribe a science lab with no scruples to hand over some chemicals in return for an intact body (parts)... Gosh that would be my dream. If any lab is reading this, I am willing... Please. Let me also add that I am first in line LOL.

In my case, the expended 20L cylinder of nitrogen and roast turkey bag over my head should help the authorities to figure out what happened. :smiling:

But I'll leave a note just in case...

Funerals, disposition of the body, obituaries, etc., are all things that matter to the living, not the dead.

I've left enough money to cover any arrangements, information on how to have my corpse dealt with at State expense, and a statement that I don't give a damn about any of it. Seems like the right way to do it, unless you want to weaponize your body/death (make a statement, force someone you dislike to deal with the mess, etc.).

I am going with cremation because of the low cost, doesn't take up space and it doesn't need maintenance like a grave.

As for the ceremony I don't want one, but I'll leave it to the state. I hope they won't be able to track my family/loved because I'm ctb in a different country. I don't want to be a burden after death too. I already told them I'm planning to moving and cutting all ties to start over in life so they won't be traumatized by the knowledge I committed suicide.

I have my whole funeral planned, it's like a big fancy Victorian affair.
I have a keen interest in the history of funerals and mourning.
So I can't CTB until the funerals go back to normal.

I don't plan on having a funeral and for my body, I could care less what happens, if I get cremated, buried, shipped to sea, etc. After all, I would be dead and my troubles would be over.

I'm thinking about the charnel house method which is popular in Japan and Korea. Put my ash container in a slot of some charnel house and put those things which was meaningful to me when I was alive i.e. my blue badge card, the jersey of my favorite soccer team, my toy pig, a mini keyboard modal, the prizes I won during student era... etc. Anyhow, still left my family to decide. I'm happy that if they're going to bury me in a tomb next to my grandparents.

Preferably cremation and ashes scattered in some body of water or something. I don't really care much beyond not wanting my dad to spend too much money on it and I am thinking of specifically asking not to have an open casket at any service. Then again, he'd likely make it an involved affair no matter what I say in a hypothetical note. I ask him every year to not make a big deal out of my birthday; fine by me if he wants to get dinner somewhere, just don't do anything birthday-ish. Of course, what do you know, after the main course, staff comes with a big surprise cake with freaking sparklers on it. Every single year. I know he means well, but it really annoys me.
