Interesting topic OP!
Here's my opinion,
I'm a wiccan. I've practiced the pagan art for about 17 years and, along with my cousin and his wife, we run a coven that practices moon clad Wicca. It's a true love of mine, and I suggest the belief to anyone seeking love, acceptance, or comfort.
The afterlife we believe in is called Summerland. It's comparable to heaven in the sense that it's a place where the soul finds peace. No matter how you lived your life you will end up on the Summerland. The one thing Wicca revolves around is the rule of three, "Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give." That's from the rede, this is a tenet used by many wiccan/pagan faiths, "Thou hast obeyed the Law. But mark well, when thou receivest good, so equally art bound to return good threefold." This Is interpreted by many to mean no matter what energy you put out it will return to you three times, or basically you will be confronted with you're own actions as many times as needed for you to learn from it.
Another way to look at the respective rule of karmic belief is this. Sanchita (accumulated works), Kriyamana, Agami, or Vartamana (current works), and Prarabdha (fructifying works), which are associated with past, present and future respectively. This way we view the idea that our past behaviors will deeply impact our present and future. So be careful what you give out, it might just come back to bite you in the butt.
Back to the afterlife. As wiccan we believe in reincarnation. Not the typical reincarnation as discussed by Buddhists. More along the lines of spiritual balance and need. Many wiccan sects believe that a witch will only be reborn as another witch. Also many believe in no "resting" time for the soul, just immediate reincarnation. One thing widely accepted is the idea that what you carry on this life will be passed on to the next life. For instance, if your karmic bowl is full on this life, it will be so in the be so in the be life. So tread carefully today, because tomorrow you may be introduced to all your past transgressions. In the idea that we worship a goddess expressed by earthly love, we come to see that we were created from the womb of nature and therefore we return to that exact womb, only to be born again. When you're reborn you're not capable of starting over anew. You get to go back to the struggles you had in your past life, forcing you to reconcile your though process in future lives. One thing I believe, along with my coven, use the idea that when we die we fold into the magical void of peace where we will eventually reappear in this world. One thing I hold belief in is reincarnation. We are all beings made up of the earth (mother--gaia) and we will return to that earth only to fertilize the our mother and feed a new creation of hers where and when our soul/spirit is transferred to it. That's right, we may not come back as a troubled spirit, more likely a sad flower. So we will come back to this earth in any form seen fit at the transference of soul.
So yes, there is am afterlife. And to say the least, it's what you make of it.
I hope they will somehow help you. It helps me to know that I won't just cease to exist after this life. There's eternity in each of us. We just have to unwind through travel passion. Be who you feel you are. What's the reason behind suicide? To relieve pain.
I hope that'll do something for you. Let me know if you have quotations. Also the same goes out to anyone on this thread. So just message me, don't pm me, just message me please. I'll give you any information I have
I love you all. You're my true friends. Keep your heads up and reach for Th e stars.
