Have you ever died?

I am not talking about near-death experiences, DMT trips, or anything like that. Because if you are still living you cannot have died. So the point I am trying to make is, how do you know what comes after death when you have never died? We can assume what comes next but we can never truly know. And maybe that is for the best. Peace
