Someone mentally unstable in the psychiatry in his 40ies told me he wants to become chancellor of Germany and emphasized it is not a joke. I met him 4 years later again he had no teeth anymore. But still a girlfriend God damn.

As a teenager I dreamed about becoming politician. A teacher told me I am not good enough to become a high politician.
I watched too much House of Cards to that time. When I was in the clinic for people with psychosis the therapist told me I have to let go of this dream. He was right. Moreover, I would never have been suited for this kind of job. Way too introverted.

No but I had a friend I thought would go into politics. They were both intelligent and very caring. Maybe too caring though. Probably my bias but I reckon there is a lot of corruption. I don't think they would have liked to witness that.

Terrible really but, I'm not interested enough in people. I want to hide from this world, not try to sort it out. Especially given the mess it's in. I think all the corruption would sicken me too. I have a feeling that- unless you climb incredibly high, you would be severely restricted in what change you could actually make. Plus, I reckon there are a lot of dirty secrets I'd be happier not knowing/ keeping.

In the US there are surprisingly not any super strict prerequisites to qualify as a running mate. Although it's entirely possible that I only skimmed my reading material of requirements. (Also this was like over 10yrs ago.) I really don't understand why we (here) haven't seen younger unknown, outsider types trying to start a campaign. There must be a phenomena associated with it besides just lacking the notoriety and funding needed to run. But I think even without hundreds of millions of dollars it's entirely possible one could win given this day and age. There has to be some obvious legitimate reason(s) to make sense as to why there isn't practically a waiting list for candidacy.
Personally I may have given it a thought in my early elementary years, but certainly not as an adult. I've given literally one thought as to what it would take for me to take a local role in government, as my state is notoriously shit in every department. I'm not sure how much difference one could make in legislation or if I'd have the will or psyche for that everyday life. Not a choice I have to concern myself with as that's only for exceptionally executively functional members of society.

I think typically you have to be rich to be a senator in America. I think senators in charge of committees with their constituents support normally get more done.
I've had some family members in politics. Personally being a trade representative (like my friend's dad) or ambassador (like one of my great-uncles was) would be awesome to me. But then I remember there is a lot of bureaucracy. Fun fact: about half the American ambassadors got their title because they were picked by the president for being friends/donors. The other half worked their way up through the State Department and USTR.
So probably sort of city council position or something similar like fire commissioner or whatever, (like my dad or his friends) because I take an interest in local politics.
Otherwise I've met having met 5 USA Presidents (including Trump) and 5 USA Secretaries of State, also Prime Ministers.

On second thought, just decree me the sole Emperor of Mankind.

I would probably vote for you if I knew your SanctionedSuicide account and how cool you are. Otherwise I would probably consider Part of the swamp, part of the corrupt elites, Part of the Establishment and part of the problem. Except you make some trade promises to Germany and we avoid the tariffs to our beautiful cars. ;)

You're too kind, my friend!

The tariff on cars specifically is interesting because its one of the rare occasions tariffs actually make sense. However, I like and drive European cars.
The US has import laws in place to protect our crappy American cars. Canada doesn't because they don't manufacture any.
