I've considered it in the past, it seems like a peaceful and fulfilling type of life if you ask me. Especially in terms of being away from all of society's bullcrap, the capitalize, materialism, narcissisms and cruelty. It sounds nice, the only downside is possibly the weather since my immune system absolutely sucks and so that might be a downside.

@GenesAndEnvironment was doing what I'm trying to do right now, which has been doing a lot of good for me as well, although I also had to deal with some of its unfortunate side effects. So I can only imagine having that feeling while at the same time being away from our toxic world. But circumstances and frankly laziness is preventing this as of light. Maybe we could help spread some of that mosaic thinking into the world slowly( not as missionaries but you get what I mean.) the world does seem to need it lol.

While it sound's nice it not something I can even realistically do right now, so might as well play pretend in my house lol.

Arriving Somewhere But Not Here

Not necessarily a monk, but I've many times felt like I just need to get away. Away from technology and corporate ladders, interpersonal dramas and quests for social status. And just be somewhere where I can be taught to live life by living, by way of doing. But regardless of how unhappy I am, my attachment to the current way of life is strong. I got rid of my smartphone for 4 months and even just that was an unpleasant experience.

Wow you are right :D last time I checked it was only possible of men to be a monastic in most variations of Buddhism but I just googled it and it says the rules have changed. We'll that really is food for thought 0.0
Even in the old Theravada, ladies _did_ have the opportunity to become Bhikkhunis - though they had to obey much more rules than Bhikkhu's. (Though the Bhikkhuni lineage died out, at least in Thailand && maybe in Indonesia.)

AFAIK in Zen/Chan/Son traditions, there is much more equality!
