Have N, will CTB if I fail my finance test

At this point, I've spent hundreds of hours studying for this test (series 7) and am terrified of failing. If I fail, I'm fired from my firm. I can't fail. I'm at my wit's end. If I fail, I will drive home and ctb. I can't stand the stress anymore. If all the intense studying equates to nothing on exam day, I don't want to see how my story ends.

I have N and plan to make it as relaxed and quick as possible. My assets are already arranged, no kids, no pets, no close family to worry about me or for me to worry about. Just wanted to shout it out into the void since I have no one else to tell.

I was working on an advanced certification between 2009 and 2015. I passed level 1 in 2011 and barely passed level 2 in 2013. I studied very hard for level 3 because I knew it will be hard for me considering the skills needed to pass the exam and my own learning abilities and weaknesses. I failed it in 2015. I did so poorly I couldn't believe the results. It was the first time in my life when I felt so stupid and incompetent. I still feel stupid and incompetent and lost my ambition and drive to succeed.

I changed career 2 times since then. I am glad I did because I realized the field requires very long hours and ki$$ ass culture. My mental health also declined and I wouldn't be able to manage a highly stressful career.

I feel like a failure but I accept my destiny. Please reconsider and think about your life. Is there anything non-work related you want to achieve?

CFA, Series XX, exams are tough as shit. I understand putting a lot of pressure on yourself. I've been there too. But these exams dont determine whether you will be successful and happy. Failure on these exams is not correlated with success in all areas of finance or in life.

I know plenty of traders, economists and FAs who are now successful after ditching those exams. Others who passed the exams moved on to do financial consulting and other fields where those exams are not required. Overall many people quit finance bc of the unhealthy hours, the fake mingling with MDs and the ridiculous facetime required. Not being able to meet a moving goal posts ate away at their confidence and self-esteem despite being really smart, hardworking, and ambitious people.

Why die for a field that so many leave after 1-3 years? Why bust your ass, give up your entire soul to meet the mark only to receive bullshit raises and low bonuses due to favoritism? You can do anything else if you made it this far including learning to trade your own accounts. Only a small handful of people thrive 20-30 years in that industry because it's always about who you know, who sponsors you in close door meetings and 'what have you done for me lately'.

If you fail the exam PLEASE dont CTB for a career where only a handful who fit the narrow mold are chosen for success. There is no need to destroy your mental health for this. This applies especially to those who are neuroatypical.

There are other places that need your unique brilliance. Go in that exam. Do the best you can. But make sure you come out with a plan that gives you other avenues to succeed and be happy with a reasonable amount of stress if things dont turn out as expected.

I actually passed. No clue how I did it. I now have my series 7 license and am currently studying for my 66. Passing the 7 has given me real confidence in the next exam. Something that came to me the night before the test, when I was feeling my absolute lowest, wanting to ctb right then, was this:

I might as well just take the test and see if I pass.

And I did. If you don't at least try, you know for sure you won't do it. As apathetic as I was, this helped me a lot.

It needs to be standard material among the CFPs to talk with their clients about climate related aspects of retirement planning

This was actually a different test from the CFP test. The series 7 is quite different. though both are big finance tests regarding investing and whatnot.

If you want to CTB imminently you buy N with funds procured on the CC.

You give the cash to your heirs or anyone you like so it won't be part of your estate and gobbled up by creditors after you die

Then you CTB


If you don't want to CTB you set a payment order to pay it off on the very last day where you would begin to accrue interest. Idiot Dave Ramsey types would tell you pay off the debt even if it's 0 percent APR
