Since the 1st of July you have to make a declaration for every package and pay taxes if it comes from outside of EU. Couple of weeks ago I made a digital declaration for a parcel (not related to ctb). I had to describe what type of goods there was, size, price, and etc. Only then it was released by customs. If I order N, what should I declare it as? What if the info I'll type in doesn't match with info presented by D?

wait you have to declare the contents as the recipient now? that doesnt make sense

just ask D what he declared it as then

but if they open it and find illicit substances then you can say goodbye to your plausible deniability..

Yes, some people on this forum have received it successfully since July 1st.

The new VAT rules don't apply to gifts. However, it is a common trick to mark something as a gift to avoid taxes so there's always a chance customs might still contact you and ask for more information, such as an invoice. Not a single EU member on this forum reported this yet though, but be aware there's a chance of this happening.

Now this is very worrying. Customs will now start opening parcels anyway and they are getting more restrictive, at least here in the East, regardless if an EU member state. I can see it coming.

Here's some official info:
"Filling in a customs declaration needs to be considered when receiving a parcel from outside of the EU, i.e. a third country. This applies to both e-store purchases and gifts sent by other private persons.
.....
Gifts sent by a private person to another private person, the value of which does not exceed 45 euros, remain tax-free (all gifts starting from 0 euros must be declared)."

So you still have to declare even if it's a gift, and you have to make sure that the info matches

I mean.. if it's gonna be declared as a gift from Mexico of course they're gonna ask about it

Yes, D obviously declares his packages as that's been a requirement forever.

I´ve ordered like a couple weeks ago to the EU. Got in 3 or 4 days, no problem with customs. D provides a declaration but as a lot of people know his declarations don´t make sense because it doesn´t match the product... that might be a problem. I got lucky, they didn´t even open mine and UPS took care of dealing with customs... I had to pay them additionally on arrival. Maybe, you could talk to him about a declaration, explain that now it´s more strict here in EU.

There are more details that I prefer not to post here so you can PM me.

They are not gonna open all the parcels, they are busy enough, trust me. Mine didn´t even get opened and it was in August

My package cleared customs (EU) 10 days ago but a delivery date was never scheduled. So I called UPS and they said I had to pay some tax. Received the bill today so will pay and hopefully receive it soon. Pretty sure they have no idea what is in it :).

Some background information: since July 1st you have to pay VAT on all orders outside the EU. If the "store" is not registrered and doesn't charge you when buying, customs charges the amount when it arrives in your country. In addition, the courier (in this case UPS) is allowed to charge an extra administration fee.

This does not apply to gifts, but as I said before, marking something as a gift is a common way to avoid taxes. I don't think D marks his packages as gifts and it might or might not make a difference if he did so.

The question is: how much does customs charge you? They look at the description and price of the declaration and as mentioned multiple times, D's declaration doesn't make sense. The value he declares the packages as is also unrealisticly low.

If customs don't believe the amount declared, they are allowed to charge VAT on the amount they believe the product is worth. Of course, the question is: how do they make a decision on this in case of N? Also, be aware the actual checking of the contents of the packages happens after you have paid the taxes. By paying the tax, you're more or less admitting you are aware of what you're importing.

That being said, I wouldn't worry that much. I recently ordered Dilantin online, paid the tax and received the pills, while it's not allowed to import medicine. The customs declarations literally stated "prescription medicine" and customs didn't care. If you look at this topic, people who ordered N got charged, paid the tax and received it. If you are being asked to pay such tax it does not mean customs opened your package or cares about it at all.

It is interesting to know what amount of tax people will get charged over the next months. The biggest risk happens when customs is not sure about the value of the package and they want more information. In that case, they'll contact you (the receiver) and ask you for an invoice to proof the actual value. No one on this forum within the EU reported this situation so far, but it is bound to happen some time and since you don't have such invoice, you're more or less screwed. This risk was there before these new regulations, but has been increased since July 1st.

Are you even in the east, Anna? The Commonwealth holds no candle to us when it becomes to kleptocracy, police stating and nanny-stating.

Just the reason it's not Sports direct baby clothing, imported using one of those shady, eastern euro London spooky-address format warehouse type-services bulgarians, russians and poles always use is enough alone to be suspect here, and your parcel searched. The reason it's from Mexico will have them alarmed!

Online discussions is the only place where you can even read the word "Amazon". Or in the news. Until last year, nobidy knew who Bezos was. And the "internet" (they never use the word online community, never - too complicated), is to blame for young people and the world's demise (along with THE jews).

Sorry for the rant Anna, but in case you have even a passing similarity in your situation - I pray to the almighty Satan you don't and I hope you never will - a so-so, decent person would never attempt getting N from their country when it's that stupid.

In 2018 a person here was arrested for having CBD oil on him, for a chronic bone pain - a few years in jail will straighten him out. Talk about illicit goods.

I've read the thing about not willing to provide tracking before from someone on this forum quite recently. Whether legit or not, for me this is absolutely a red flag. Without tracking, you don't know anything. For example, if you have to pay VAT at customs, how will you be aware of this without tracking? The package will probably get stuck there.

He wasn't willing to send photo's as well when I contacted him in April. He claimed it's not possible via Protonmail, which is bullshit.

I'd be very careful.

Yes, that may be possible, but in best case this will cause a delay of a week minimum. If he's not willing to provide tracking, I wouldn't buy from him, period. I've heard he claims he's not willing to provide tracking to avoid being caught or something, that sounds like a big bullshit excuse.

well, he always used to ship without tracking when not requested specifically. it was fine as long as delivered

in all cases, there are records stored at the private courriers and/or payment companies. that's why recipients periodically get LE visits on and off, no matter what, including weeks or even months after

here, the question becomes whether we-re still dealing with the real A...

Anyone know the UPS / DHL procedure?

If they didn't reach you after a month, what does it mean? It's in the lab?

simple multiple-drug test kits exist, which give instantaneous results about most of all the drug asset classes / types. if officers sample it out, they are most likely equipped in order to not have to rely on a lab to stop it initially

if unclaimed and unpaid, of course, it can be returned after a delay if there's a sender address (apparently mandatory with private couriers internationally but not national postal services for local dispatch), otherwise confiscated rather than discarded, which may or may not lead to an indirect inspection that could have been avoided before

My two parcels of N I needed to pay taxes to UPS… (about 32 USD each).
(This is something I think D could have managed to pay there)…
But I don't think D should change his declaration…

The Dilantin at the cheapest shipping way took almost a month to get here but didn't have to pay anything else.
At the Customs Declaration this folks declared:
"1 -Non Restricted RX Medicaments - Personal Supply".

AFAIK, D don't write on the package email or phone number. So I suppose you made contact with UPS by your own?

Yep, ordering to any EU country is getting super risky now! A lot of customs control and very harsh punishments! Luckily, there are N vendors inside the EU, if you look hard enough. In fact, I have ordered my N from a EU vendor.
