I was hoping not to have to learn to tie a knot, and to be able to quickly set this up somewhere outside in the early hours, but the bit of rope behind the lock where the rope is doubled over and has the plastic wrapped around it - is the straight, rigidity of that section an issue for creating a noose that's tight around the neck? I wouldn't want to end up hanging for hours in fucking pain! Should I wrap the rope around my neck twice so it has bendy rope surrounding it? Or is there a better option? No tieing, please, I can't be fucked!

I just bought this rope too and was disappointed with how rigid it is. I have concerns about it tightening, but not worried it will break. I'm going for a snuggle hitch around the branch and simple noose at the bottom. I'm going to fix the noose as tight as I can before stepping off the ladder. Eugh, I wish the thought of failure wasn't so dominating. I'm not a practical person at all but the knots are not tricky if you practice a few times. I'm going tomorrow.

I was just gonna use the D-lock to make a noose and use that - is that not a good idea?

I have no idea I'm sorry. I've spent so much time researching and I think the method I chose should work. It shouldn't be this stressful should it?!

I want to do partial suspension but I am worried I won't be doing it right. I don't know how to compress the carotid so that I just pass out in a few seconds, I would be worried about messing it up and having to suffocate to death. I just want to go unconscious and then let the rest happen but I'm worried about botching it and then hanging there in agony for several minutes.

I'm just hoping for the best and will suffer the consequences if not. I'm too scared to do partial because of SI. I tried jumping and my body wouldn't let me. I figured short full suspension is the only way for me. I'm not feeling afraid (only of failure) so hoping when it comes to it I will have the courage to proceed. I'm sorry that there isn't a pain and worry free way for us to go. Best wishes to you.

I've been considering jumping from here, but there are suicide squads roaming the area looking for potential jumpers, as it's a popular CTB spot. I'm probably not the kind of person who could just jump. Maybe ride a bike really fast. See the tiny people on the top? 525ft high!

I like the bike method, noted!

It's kind of comical, someone riding a bike really fast off of there! You could do some gnarly BMX tricks with all that air time. But I'm sure it'd be easier than jumping, and the only documented cases of survival from there is when people have landed on bits that stick out somewhat, 100ft or so down, so flying off the edge on a bike would probably solve that.

I don't see how that would be possible to suffocate from partial. If you don't pass out you'll just stand up.

Unless you're determined to go through with it, and you just sort of strangle yourself to death.

Oh no, now I'm all in knots about knots. I read on the Lost All Hope site to use a simple noose. It seems to work like a slip knot. I'll have to do some more research as I'm unsure. It is kinda boring reading but necessary.

I'd be careful with that thing. It looks like it could kill you.
