That looks OK to me. Just make sure the bottle remains properly sealed until you need to use it. Exposure to air will gradually convert the sodium nitrite to sodium nitrate, which won't kill you.

Not necessarily. It's just a bit pricey and I want this to work.

I definitely won't open it until needed, and I'll also keep it in a cabinet with a bunch of clothes.
