I was researching about the müngstener bridge in Germany, I stumbled upon a few websites advocating for barriers, fences and nets.
One of them highlighting the statistic of failed suicides on the golden gate bridge. 97% survivors allegedly would not attempt suicide again. the glaring issue with this statistic is that they couldn't have possibly known about other attempts, unless the person was caught during another attempt.

You're correct that the individuals that survived their jumps wouldn't know how many total attempts there were or what those individuals said about their willingness to jump again, but the authorities certainly would know because they were involved in the rescues and the information is documented in their records.

I expect that the total number of failed jumps where the jumper survived could be verified through public records.
