The Golden Gate Bridge has undergone a process of installing suicide nets about 20ft below the pedestrian walkways.

However, could a committed jumper simply land on the nets, and then crawl to freedom?

At its highest, the bridge is 245 ft from road to water. From the net, that makes 225 ft.

This is a bit lower than recommended height for fatality, but would it still be good enough?

The Golden Gate Bridge Safety Net was invented by psychopaths.

"People jumping on the net will be seriously injured. It's made of a stainless steel mesh.

So, it's like jumping on a cheese grater," says Dennis Mulligan, the general manager of the bridge district, to the Associated Press.

It's not rubber. It doesn't stretch. We want people to know that if you come here, it will hurt when you jump."
