This is why one needs to be creative to lessen the chance of surviving the encounter. When they approach you and ask 'what's up man, where you from?" you answer 'do I really look like I'm answering questions from a bunch of pussy-ass niggers with their waterguns?" A good tip is also to learn their gang name so you can insult it in the same breath.

On a serious not I second that if they won't kill you, not only may they beat you badly, they may take you some place and torture you. So this approach may be more painful than starving yourself to death.

I have seen videos of people getting their bodies cut open while being awake, limbs cut off, being burned alive, slaughtered with machetes, etc...

The South American + Mexican drug scene is not something you want to mess with. You'll be lucky to get shot.

The favela people won't usually kill people, afaik and afa i've seen. I might be wrong and it might change depending on the place, especially given that the current government wants to create a feel of war in the population, but killing people is trouble for poor criminals, so they avoid it. At least that's what i know after buying cannabis for some time. If he truly wants to get killed by the favela people, he/she will likely be required to either beat somebody up in the favela, or rob someone there.

On the other hand, if he truly wants to get killed, he/she should try provoking the police. The police acts as though above the law, instead of acting like law enforcers, and has been known to shoot on sight.
