I don't think they sounded condescending at all whatsoever. I see a lot of people that comment on goodbye threads and tell people hey it's okay if you don't want to follow through with this right now or it's okay to call for help and I honestly think that's the right thing to do.
I know you think "any age" has the right to kill themselves but there are literally teenagers on this website who may be going through something and making an impulsive decision who may not have a support system or anybody to talk to so us offering them to talk and open up isn't a bad thing to do and I don't think that is condescending.

i have said similar things to people, but i just thought it could have been worded better. maybe it's just me. i see your point, tho. it's nice that people have a desire to help those that they see as in need of assistance. it makes the world a better place. thank you for helping me to see something more positively.

As did yours to mine. MIne wasn't meant to be, and I think you're reading far too much into it and taking it personally, particularly as mine obviously wasn't directed towards the OP.

There's nothing wrong with saying it's ok to talk. But if the forum isn't welcoming, then for people where it's already hard to talk about, it's not going to make them any less afraid. I've seen my fair share of ctbs now, I don't celebrate any of them, do you?

There are potentially teenagers that try to slip in here, and I know some people feel like they can't talk to anybody, nobody will understand, everyone feels fake etc. They can't talk things out IRL, but that's not the case here. It's ok to talk here, it's maybe the only place it's ok to talk sometimes.
