  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I used to self harm via self-strangulation. I guess that's a really weird way to go about it since my therapists always give me a weird look when I talk about it.

I clearly remember what the experience was like. If I managed to compress not just the airway but the jugular vein, it gave me the weirdest sensations. My vision blacked out, I felt faint/light-headed, but the strangest thing was the sound. I remember hearing my heartbeat slowly turn into glitching noises. It sounded almost crunchy, maybe like staticky running water. Like a video game glitching out.

Has anyone else experienced this? I might consider trying it again, but I'd rather not accidentally ctb through this method.

I've never strangled myself, but I can relate to the experience you're describing:

Some time in the past I was taking a medication that increased my blood pressure sporadically, and in the moments when it was really high I heard a similar sound. Other times, it was more of a whoosh.

During practice, you know you are doing it well when you get the sound of rushing water in your ears.
You probably heard that.
