I think we're a mixed bunch here. Some people have enjoyed parts of their lives, some have despised every moment, some just think the bad outweighs the good.

Where do you stand? Presuming it was possible: You got the full picture of what your life was going to be like before you were born. If you had the choice- would you be born, or not?

I'd say no- it hasn't all been bad for me but the bad outweighs the good.

Fuck no, I will always resent that I was thrust into decades of suffering for no reason and without my consent. Being alive is completely unnecessary.

Yes, I hate being the fly in the ointment on this subject, but I have to go with a yes.

Please do not zing me and with that said here is why: 1) Yes, I have had a lot of crap and headaches for sure, like everyone 2) BUT, I have also had some very outstanding times and being able to experience some very awesome things 3) also I never would have SS and everyone here, that alone is a yes for me.

Cancer, 2 attempts and so much more, BUT lots of traveling, meeting so many different folks and cultures and all the awesome food, YUM! Watching a beautiful sunrise and/or sunset, a soft ocean breeze flowing over me, a majestic view of mountains, and on and on, just so wonderful and beautiful to/for me.

Love and kindness to all here, we ARE a loving and fantastic bunch of folks.

Walter

Tough to have a straight forward answer. I stand at unsure/undecided.

Yes, given I dont know how life would turn out to be.

No, if I knew how my life would turn out to be.

Despite life turning out the way it did for me, I do still have a lot of fond memories from growing up, before the decline happened.

I grew up in a very dysfunctional household, with alcoholic and neglectful at times, parents, but I was never abused and I was a happy child, for the most part. I'm a very sentimental person and I often lament the fact that those days are gone. If I had never been born, I'd never have experienced any of that.

Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good and the years have ticked away so fast that I've now had depression for the majority of my life. If I had been armed with the knowledge that life would've ended up like this, I would rather not have been born.

I live a miserable existence and even if I woke up tomorrow and was completely sound of mind, it'd be too late. I've lost too much time.

Unsure.

I've suffered a lot, but after it was over I appreciated what I went through and felt a calmness I couldn't have imagined. The gender dysphoria that I've suffered for 2 decades has been mostly alleviated.

However, right now I feel that it's time for me to leave, but I feel guilt over hurting my family. If I hadn't been born in the first place, I wouldn't need to end my life and hurt them.

Thanks everyone. I just want to say (obviously) that ALL answers are valid. I don't actually know what's worse- to have always hated your life- or to have had wonderful times that you simply see no way of getting back to. I think both situations are pretty shitty to be honest.

It's difficult to say. Both terrible situations, but I think the latter is the better of the 2. If I never had those memories to look back on, I'd be dead by now.

Watching movies, playing video games and listening to music from happier days helps me pass the time.

Non existence is wonderful place to be at. No pain no problems no people zero drama. Existing just to be slave of a system is really not it. So I would choose never to come back here.

Absolutely not. Under no circumstances could I wish to be apart of something so disgusting and unnecessary as existence. I consider non existence to be perfection, as it's the complete absence of everything and I view it as being the best thing possible to never have any awareness of this world.

Life is such an useless concept that leads to nothing and nowhere apart from our inevitable deterioration and death, and existing could never be worth it in any way, there's nothing to be gained by existing, instead there are only more ways in which to suffer so unnecessarily and be burdened with endless problems. The existence of life is a tragedy and I simply despise just being here so of course never being born is what I would have chosen as it would have prevented all this.

i absolutely wouldn't have wanted to be born knowing this would be how i'd end up. the cruelty of life, of age, i see it every day when i'm with my senior ladies. their bodies and minds broken and there's nothing I can do to alleviate their pain except to be there for them, hold their hands and cry with them for their cruelty and pain time has inflicted on them. And, speaking of which I better get up to the facility <3 be kind to yourselves and to each other <3

There were plenty of good experiences in my life, but there's just too many bad things to make it worth it. Not existing is a hard thing to wrap my head around, but I would much prefer it to this life, or any life. It's just not worth it.

HELLLLLL NO!!! LMAO.

No way, no how.

Born for what? What purpose? What do any of us get out of being born?

Even the ones who proclaim to love life have no purpose. So I sure as hell don't.

Just another body to pay into the system so a handful of people at the top can live it up.

I'll pass.

I'm kind of unsure. I mean, I obviously hate existence to some degree if I'm on SS - But I don't know. A majority of my family is dead, and I miss them so much. They say it's better to of loved and loss then to never be loved at all - or something like that. I'm not sure how I feel about that statement. The terrible pain I feel of losing the people that meant the most to me is fucking brutal man.

No. Only because you said I get a full picture of what my life would be like. If I could set things up to prevent those issues then - yes, I would choose to be born. I don't believe life is worthless and a burden at all.

+1

We did not choose to exist. So I don't feel responsible for the misery and suffering of others. If I voluntarily choose to exist in this world, it means my approval of pain and misery of athers. I am not willing to exist in a world where a child is starving. The pursuit of personal happiness in such a world is selfish. Since I do not approve of this existence, it would be unethical for me to accept it. Even in best scenario I will not accept here. Nothingness is nothingness. There is no problem with it.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

I wish so much that I were never born. Wow the silent majority of sasu let themselves known in this poll about 80% agree with with wish never being born. Similar to death is non-existence poll though that was only 66% majority. I agree had no problems before existing and will be like that again after I die non-existence.

There is no 100% guaranteed method so I'm in a terrible trap. What is holding me up is risk of failure. If I had my suicide method to 99% I'd do it tonight

Now if someone can do the poll is life good or bad. Would like to know what people think since we were all constantly being hammered with ideas like :"life is good life is a gift sacred a privilege that we must keep at all costs"..i think life is very very bad
i absolutely wouldn't have wanted to be born knowing this would be how i'd end up. the cruelty of life, of age, i see it every day when i'm with my senior ladies. their bodies and minds broken and there's nothing I can do to alleviate their pain except to be there for them, hold their hands and cry with them for their cruelty and pain time has inflicted on them. I've stared at this for a while and still can't decide 100% either way. The good has been little, but it was good. However, the bad has been very bad. So, I've just gotta say unsure. Sorry if this skews the vote.
