How are all of you planning on leaving your belongings when your time arrives?

I'll start off the discussion:
I really don't know yet. My room is an absolute mess (I can barely walk to my bed), so I think I will start there. I'll clean things as much as possible. I think I might try to gradually give away my belongings of value, such as my turntable/record collection, guitar, chess boards and laptop. I already know one person who really wants the turntable and another who would likely appreciate the guitar. I just don't want to make anyone suspect anything, so I'll have to be careful.

I am about to receive ~ten thousand dollars from my school for living expenses and would like to leave this to those who matter to me. I did a bit of googling earlier and found that estates are often taken by debtors, and i Have lots of credit card debt, so in an effort to prevent that, I think I will venmo half the funds to my only friend and the other half to my father while I am still alive. (I might just give everything to my one friend. I still have to decide) This venmoing of course would have to be done after I consume SN and am well on my way.

I don't even know what I would say in my goodbye notes.

When I'm getting ready I usually clean up the whole house, throw the trash away, take all the drugs, donate clothes, return my work uniform and throw away unnecessary documents. If im feeling extra like shit ill dig up old pictures and burn them. just the idea of my presence is awful.

Man. The parting with belongings and $ is the hard part. I have some nice savings and I would send everything to my mom who lives in another country. But irrationally, the thought of sending it away while I am still alive makes me panic. And the dead me won't be able to. I don't want anyone else to touch it.
I guess I will just Western Union it a few times before ctb.
The rest of my belongings will probably be thrown away. It saddens me but nothing I can do. Thrown away just like I have been, discarded like my scarred soul and my life.
I decided against letters. What is the point? they didn't care while I was alive, will they care when I'm dead?

I will do the laundry for all my clothes and clean up the room I'm staying in. I will line up all my belongings, and I will factory reset all my devices, but not before moving pictures I would like for them to have to a USB stick. Then I will either catch the bus in said room or maybe do it outside at night at some quiet place (I don't like the idea of my brother finding my dead body). If I do the latter, I will hide my note under my mattress, so they don't find it too early. Everything else I have yet to figure out

What will happen if they find it too early? Is this some well-known precaution to take which I've been unaware of?

I think I'll just clean up, wipe my electronics, leave no note. I have no friends so I guess family will take care of the belongings. I don't really care.

I don't know. It's more of a just in case thing. He might step into my room for some reason, notice I'm not there, which would be quite unusal for me, and read the note and try to rescue me or something.

sounds like a solid idea, especially with ur belongings and money. to me the most important thing is my mice, they need a new fur parent, then after that I have some jewelry, vehicle, furniture that is of value. i'm just too lazy to get up and sell it myself i guess >.< maybe i shoudl do that seeing as how i have a little precious time left. one thing that's important to me is try to get a living will done. in the US there's the 'five wishes' which is legally binding, and some other paperwork to ensure that i am DNR/DNI (do not resuscitate, do not intubate) because fk that noise. godspeed o7

This is playing on my mind actually. I've a big house filled to the brim with my stuff, my poor deceased partners stuff, like guitars and keyboards. There must be at least 20 guitars of one type or another. I've got vehicles to try to sell too and a new Will to have prepared. Or do you just say fuck it let whoever sort everything out. I think I'd like to at least get rid of vehicles and sort the will. Everything in the house can be picked over by relatives. The other issue is that my family live in the UK and I'm in the Netherlands.
I think my Niece will be nicely placed to buy that house she always wanted But couldn't afford. I also want to prepare a list of music to be played at my funeral

I have given this a bit of thought... I think it might be good for us all to collectively create a list f thinks to consider: I'll start by adding a few things to get the list going (in no particular order, just things that I have considered)
- burial insurance ( I don't want to be buried, I want to be cremated, but the reality is someone has to pay for that to happen)
- leaving a paper in my room with the passwords to all of my social media and the PIN number for bank account cards
- directions on what I want done with my remains, I want them to be scattered off of the promenade on the beach of Capitola California
- I don't have much money but I want to identify who gets it

Can you add more to the list?

My solicitors will act as executors to my will and they will arrange for a house clearance service- everything that can be will be sold and added to the estate.

I might box up some smaller valuables for my God son.

I'm waiting for my Dad to go first. Once he's gone- I only have step relations and distant family and friends left. I don't want them troubled with any of it- I live hundreds of miles from them. I'll pre-pay for a cremation only (no service.) I'll need to make sure my phone is paid off and the details for all my providers plus tax return details and passwords are laid out for my solicitor.

My main worry is the police asking for someone to identify my body. I don't want anyone to have to do that. I would be going at home though. I'd put out my ID and ask them to go from dental records if needs be- I'll leave them my dentist's details. Hopefully that will be enough for them.
