I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying/I'm not explaining myself properly. My parents say "I have no reason to be depressed/nothing bad has happened" etc, when there does not need to be reason to have depression or commit suicide, depression doesn't discriminate and can happen to anyone and there are usually multiple factors.

I meant that suicide is not 'logical' in the aspect that as a species we are hard-wired to live and hence why we all have strong survival instinct, the body works to live. I do not think suicide is illogical, I am suicidal myself and I understand why someone would want things and I feel it everyday. I'm still here because of survival instinct. There is no two argument that I am creating, I am just saying I think mental health and suicide can often be oversimplified when there is a lot of factors to consider. I'm not saying I think suicide is illogical or that I don't understand why people commit suicide - I was in the hospital in November for overdosing on SN. However, a lot of people have gone through things I have gone through and will not have any mental health issues or attempt suicide. That was not a separate argument, it was adding to the original oversimplifying suicide/mental health point I was trying to make (obviously unsuccessfully).

dont mean to go off tangent but how did you survive from od'ing on SN?

Why do people always put suicide down to an event, although it can be, suicide is not a 'logical' reaction in any circumstance. I think there will be underlying mental health struggles to take this route. While I agree the economy and the pandemic will be a factor and could of tipped him over the edge, but I just think it oversimplifies suicide and mental health struggles. A lot of people struggle financially and will be in a similar position to him, but they won't all commit suicide.

His job is minister of finance.
He has enough money because his paycheck is more then enough.
So he is dead now who knows why it mostly is multiple factors job, private life, past etc.

Haha no worries - I drank the solution but not all of it as it tasted horrible, I had 3/4 sips of it, I didn't want anyone to find the solution as I was worried about someone drinking it by accident. My heart rate was raised and I was experiencing anxiety as naturally committing suicide can be very scary. I poured the solution down the sink which is underneath a mirror, my reflection was so pale and blue than I panicked and told my brother. He called an ambulance and the paramedics arrived and put me on oxygen support, the blue flashing lights were on, I was made to drink charcoal, then in the hospital I was taken to resuss/HDU where I had an IV of methanyl blue which reversed the SN and then I was then on a saline drip for 24 hours to flush it out also.

It was not a good experience.

This is what I was trying to say sorry, there is probably multiple factors that should be considered and shouldn't be simplified to one explanation!

The body of Thomas Schäfer, finance minister for the German state of Hesse, was found on train tracks near Wiesbaden. Police suspect the 54-year-old died by suicide.

Not to be insensitive to this man's passing, but I do think it was incredible he was able to catch a train during these times when the frequency of trains are running less and less in Europe.

For folks outside Germany, Schäfer was finance minister of the German state of Hessen, but not the national finance minister.

True. Still one has to wonder what really prompted him jump in front of a train, maybe he saw the bigger picture and decided to end it. There has been talk of civil war coming to Germany, but I'll believe it when I see it.
