The German journalists watch way too much CNN and MSNBC. And they just repeat most of their talking points. Personally I prefer US-leftwing independent media when I want to hear stances on US-politics.

Though today I listened to a podcast of a German newspaper. And the female "US-expert" called Nancy Pelosi a couple of time unironically "badass Pelosi". The other guy sucks of Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg on a regular basis.

Many journalists pretended that a major reason why Hillary Clinton lost to Trump was sexism. Moreover they pretended (some time ago) Kamala Harris would only be so unpopular because of sexism. I think the truth is both of them are probably horrible politicians/people. Though I don't deny that sexism was one factor. But I doubt it was a major one.

My observation is that Hillary lost because she is a bad campaigner, not because she is a horrible politician. A lot of horrible politicians have won elections easily in US. Recent example is Trump. But also sexism played a big part in her loss.

German media has a conspicuous need to distance itself from right-wing extremism as much as possible due to bad past experiences.
