It basically sums up my experience in the medical system. It's a former therapist mocking a system that has failed him as a professional and so many of us as patients.
This man has a lot of unconventional opinions but he is pro life obviously, he wouldn't have 100k subs otherwise. I find him very funny nonetheless.

Thanks for the video ! It was pretty funny. He's got quite a few correct point in my opinion, like with the treatements part about giving whatever they want.

At least there's someone who's studied psychiatry that realizes that it's bullshit. Too many of these doctors are fed up with themselves because they took a hard education and think that for some reason their opinion is less misguided than your own, when it's concerning your own life.
Most of these people could be replaced with a simple questionnaire which would result in a dispensing of drugs.. yet they believe their existence in their profession to be a highly valued one.
Psychiatrists are some of the most narcissistic people that I have ever had the 'pleasure' of dealing with, they really do believe they have some heightened insight into the minds of others. If it weren't for the placebo effect that's very prevalent in psychiatry, because for some reason, most people including the psychiatrists, have a sort of trust in the system; the treatment of psychiatric medicine would be completely laughable. There's actually been studies showing that people who were given a bunk pill, thinking it was an antidepressant, had the same effectiveness in the release from depression as those who got an actual antidepressant.
Most people think that psychiatry has some sort of magic cure, and I think thusly it works for a lot of people. But once you become highly skeptical of the system the magic is lost and you're just subjected to the terrible side-effects that the medications have.

Very funny but also made me angry. I hate how he said that the psychiatrist is never wrong. He isn't even considering what the patients want. And i sped up the video 1.5x speed and he is probably one of the most annoying people i've ever listened to. He is sharing his pro-lifer views that i
don't agree with at all and his annoying voice sped up made it way worse than it had to be. 😂

Edit: After watching this a second time, i cannot get over how funny this is. Although it angers me to an extent too because this is how all psychiatrists are taught to be like, the people who we are supposed to rely on the most in order to get better.

I don't know feels like to me he was saying it quite sarcastically.. But he still seems to me the kind of guy I definitely wouldn't want as my psychiatrist.

Love Daniel Mackler for a long time now. He is finally growing on YT.
But yes I don't agree with his pro-life stances.

me too, he really sounded sarcastic when he said "if you chose F, you're correct!" because all of the other answers sounded so stupid to me and F was all of the above or one of the above. I also feel the same way as you, i would definitely refuse any care from him if he was my psychiatrist.

Can't phrase it better !
At the psych ward I was given an endless page long questionnaire which was so silly...
The questions were very simple and you had to tick (basically) big no/no/little no/little yes/yes/ big yes for: are you depressed? (it was written in all sorts of ways but yk) are you anxious? do you hear voices? do you want to act upon your desires to CTB/hurt others? Do you sleep well?
I had to pretend I could fit under one of those stupid categories so I said no or vague yes to all except for those regarding anxiety so I was only given Valium whereas some other patients had 3+ meds a day...jeez.
There was this girl who had meds against violence (whatever that even means...) she got terrible sides effects, she would hear voices and hallucinate so guess what...they gave her another med which was against voices and hallucinations on top of the other tranquilizer thing, yay.
Anyhow, sorry for rambling, can't even believe all of this is actually happening and is considered normal and good.

Yeah it's kind of funny how they can judge what kind of mental illness you have with a questionnaire like that, but you can't just do one online and get a prescription without consulting a doctor. I've also just said a lot of bullshit in those scenarios. Never telling anyone in the psychiatrist my real thoughts ever again, aboslute nothing good comes of it.

Better double down on the meds than to not give them at all seems to be their motto. The rabbit hole of medication never ends once you've started it they could put you on all sorts of different medications and all sorts of different combinations, and you can never really know if you feel better because of the medications or because it was just the right time in your life.

Anyhow, sorry for rambling, can't even believe all of this is actually happening and is considered normal and good.
Because most people have absolutely no clue what goes on in psychiatry.. And those that do are a part of it, so they have to console to themselves that what they're doing and supporting is right.. a sort of coping mechanism.
So many inhumane and unjust things happening in psych wards it's unreal man.
There was this one girl in the ward at the same time as me, and she would regularly choke herself to death so they'd revive her repeatedly and she had to be watched during all hours by staff. She would just remain in bed for most of the time.. And for some reason they can argue to themselves that prolonging this intense misery is somehow virtuous. It's insane.
