I'm honestly considering just going for full of this will work, because I am failing partial.
My rope is rated for 195 pounds. I am 140.
Still this be strong enough to endure the hanging?
The only way I can get an anchor point high enough is attached to the door knob, slung over the door and closing the door. Will this hold, do you think?

I suppose it could, I believe it will hold

But Considering you are hanging from a door, you might make banging noises when your body involuntarily/Unconsciously moves. And this then alerts others to your location, Of course that is assuming other people live with you, but if that is not the case I think it will do

I hope that makes sense, Good luck my friend

I don't live alone, but my door locks, and I would wait for them to be asleep with their doors closed. Any banging they might just think it's the rabbit doing binkies. She sounds like a horse. Lol
The way I tested whether my set-up would support my weight, was to set everything up, then - instead of putting the noose round my neck - just put one foot in the noose then take the other foot off the ground as well. Best to hold it for a while, and try and swing around a bit to give things a good workout.
That wouldn't be possible for me. I would need a ladder to get up that high, and then there's the ceiling. I guess I could put a stick, mop handle maybe in it and hang around.

Rope ratings are generally much higher unless it's very thin...so I question that part. If the rope is of a larger diameter, one could make a knot, drape the rope over the top and close the door. I've tested this with a strap, seemed feasible. Consider researching hyperventilating and syncope (fainting)...might help🤷‍♂️

That's what it said. Load limit 195. It's 9 mm (3/8 inch) braided utility line. bought it with the intention of using it for partial, it is more than good enough for that. But I can't overcome my SI with partial. I stand up out of it every time.
So my only other options are to try "sit in air" partial position (unpleasant but looks like it would be harder to stand up out of) or just go for full without the option of backing out
I can't make myself pass out with hyperventilation. I tried for SWB, and all it did was make me a little lightheaded but caused muscle cramping. My lips were contorted and remained that way for several minutes after I gave up.

If you convulse, which is likely, you could easily put more than 195lbs of tension on the line. It might work but if there's any way of getting something stronger, I would.

That's what I was afraid of.

I was considering a partial w/strap over the door, I have a 2" wide ratchet strap, with night night rolls... but sitting in a chair sort of stretched out (sitting high up and forward) while allowing an otc sleep med put me to sleep. I thought maybe I'd slowly relax and blood choke myself.
It's on the back burner for now. I have eb/n2 also.
Is my description of the chair position like what you mean by sitting in air?
I, as many of us do, also have the SI problem. Thinking of a post, someone was saying we're focusing too much on how (but obv we need to), instead of why; when it comes to SI, I wonder if the why is what can get us through...

By sitting in the air, I mean the anchor point would be above my head, then I sit down with my full weight with my legs out on front so only heels touch the floor. It seems like this way would be hard to get out of.
I have tried to make tourniquet work, because I think relaxing in bed would eliminate my SI, but I can't get it.

I'm really interested in night night, but I have no idea about ratchet straps. I tried repeatedly to make tourniquet work, but could only compress jugular. For me, passing out while laying down is so much easier then upright.

Do not drop when you try. Ease off a chair or whatever you stand on. It is the spike in weight from a drop that will break the rope, door or knob.

I'll have to find something other than my kitchen chairs. They are too high. Thanks
