Discussion For how long are you sick?

I just wanna make somekind of a poll; for how long are you guys mentally sick?
Ofc you can share the reason, when did it start etc etc

For me it has been life long. I am 64 years young and it always been a part of my life. I found out recently that it runs in my family on my dads side.

About 28 years I would say. Though autism is something that's present from birth. I got into trouble with anxiety when I was about 6. Which expressed itself as fear of germs.

In my 30s, probably diagnosable since at least 4 years of age. First suicidal at 8.

I would say my whole life, but of course I can't remember my early years. But I know I was struggling before I started school (6 yo in my country back then).

I don't know if I have ever felt being truly happy. I have had euphoria on drugs though. Not sure if it is better to not have known it at all, or to know what I am missing out on, as probably many of you here do, based of your answers.

Been suicidal for 12 years, so half my life. Had issues before that I had selective mutism as a kid and filled with anxiety for as long as I can remember. Spent a great deal of time as a kid ripping my own skin off causing it to bleed and pacing. Its becoming increasing clear to me that I have been messed up in the head from the start but it all seems so normal to me . I am damaged goods I'm afraid. Probably have multiple mental health/behaviour/emotional issues but never been diagnosed with anything.

haven't been diagnosed with anything, but since 11 or 12 is when my "sickness" began. starting having both suicidal and homicidal thoughts due to my father's absolutely amazing parenting skills. /s

Since I was 4, so nearly 20 years. Never got much help from the NHS, not even help from cry for help CTB attempts and early onset schizophrenia in my teens.
