My state doesn't allow firearms but I can travel

Q1) The issue is if I'll be able to give closure to family.
If my head is blown off and I'm in a different state, then they'll think I'm missing for a long while. I want to write a suicide note but if I leave it in a visible place with the address and everything, I wouldn't want flesh bits on it because that would be traumatic. I wouldn't want to leave the note in my room given the risk they find out before I succeed. Idk if my parents for sure plan to see my body or fine with accepting the news I'm dead. I just don't want it to look terrifying to them if they do intend to see it.

Q2) Another thing is - what place to shoot?
I feel like it would be difficult to shoot without anyone noticing the loud noise. Cars and people are always somehow around in areas. Forests are still close to roads bc there's mostly urban cities nearly everywhere. If not, maybe someone's hiking or camping. It isn't guaranteed that no one is going to somehow spot me after the noise to seek medical attention.

This is just future plans. I understand gunshots are painful but the reliability and speed makes for a successful attempt. Still figuring out what's the best option tho.

Maybe mail a letter to them? & if you can, try to travel someone rural where there aren't many houses & stuff. Like a field?

1) I know there is a way to send electronic messages with a delay (like sending a message 5 days from now) I'm just not sure how exactly to set it up
2) If you shoot yourself in the head correctly there is nothing anyone can do to save you, the death will be instant. There should be a guide on this forum on how to correctly shoot yourself. From what I recall you don't aim upward you aim at a 45-degree angle inside your mouth. As for location I've seen plenty of people go to a gun rental range and CTB there, it's a bit shitty for the people there though because that's gonna traumatize them.

Q1) Seal your letter in one of those large, plastic, zip-lock baggies.

Q2) If you're truly successful, I wouldn't think it would make one bit of difference if someone hears the shot and rushes to try and "save" you.

Your questions beg the additional questions:

1) What type of gun are you thinking about using?
2) Where on your person are you thinking of shooting yourself?

That's a good idea bc it'll take 1-3 business days. Guess I have to look at a detailed usa map and find rural areas. And also if it's in the middle of nowhere, the medical attention is probably not advanced enough anyways

Yeah I looked at that megathread. I think I should go to gun rental ranges to practice. Thanks, the scheduled email is a good idea but I think there might be no wifi when I'm actually there

I don't have like any gun knowledge. I recall a thread saying a handgun isn't a good option. There's a lot to understand about entry holes, exit holes, caliber etc. I'm a total beginner so it's purely speculation rn. I plan on shooting in my mouth to aim at the brain stem. I heard you somehow have to hold it backwards to get the right angle. Aiming behind the ear is for people skilled with guns so I'm not thinking of doing that. And thanks for the ziplock idea

Yeah, I live in the Midwest & we only really have hospitals in actual cities & stuff so if you're like really out in the middle of nowhere it could take you well over an hour to even get to one. I hope things go well for you & if you decide not to ctb I hope things get better for you. I hope you find peace either way 🩷

Could you please recommend sites or YouTube channels that explain types of guns and gun design? If you're a gun user, do you know how much practice time someone needs to have good form and aim well in general?

Just googling the phrases, "all about guns", or "learn about guns" brings up a plethora of websites to do just that. One to start with is https://www.pewpewtactical.com/beginners-guide-guns/

I really don't know how much "practice" one would need to stick a shotgun in one's mouth and squeeze the trigger. Pretty much with a shotgun in the mouth and buckshot as ammo, it's "lights out", if that is what one is inclined to do. I think using a firearm any other way brings much more uncertainty, like holding a pistol of some sort to the side of one's head and shooting one's self that way. Same goes for trying to shoot one's self in the heart and bleed out. I wouldn't want the suffering that comes with that. If I were inclined to kms with a firearm, the only way I'd choose is using a shotgun to blow out the back of my head, thereby taking out my brain stem.

Shotguns are generally the better option, the spread of the pellets will destroy anything in a wide cone range, just don't aim towards the top of the roof of your mouth it will fail to kill you most of the time and completely destroy your life even more. Shotgun slugs will also destroy everything in their path but normal pellets round is enough to kill, slugs are kinda overkill. A handgun is a bad option mostly for people that don't know what they are doing, there are different calibers that will cause different amounts of damage, and the best way I've seen with handguns is to aim at the temple it directly in line with the brain and you're less likely to miss but then again if you don't have experience it's not a good idea. An automatic rifle is a no-no the kickback is inconsistent and might throw off your aim plus even if you manage to CTB your fingers will lock on the trigger for a couple of seconds which will make the gun fire a couple more rounds around you.
On a final note, try to do research there is plenty of information online about guns you could also speak with people that are trained to handle guns.

Travelling out of state to buy a gun will be difficult. Most states only let dealers sell to residents, so you need a photo ID with the state address. This might even be federal law.

You should sue your state, they are violating the 2nd amendment.
