You know they say "America was the land of the free and home of the brave." But actually its Germany.

What screams freedom more than legal voyeurism. Of course it is satire. But there is a loophole in the current laws. And they consider to fix it.

Are there any loopholes in the laws of your country?

Except that a certain president can shoot anyone they want on the streets without any repercussions.

I've wondered about this sort of thing... in the countries where nudity in public is more permissible.

For comparison... here in the US... if you are walking around in public (i.e. not inside your home or a private business) then people can record or take photos of you as they wish. IF those images are used for personal profit and not in a news-related way, then they have to get your permission to publish them... but they can take the public pictures and send them freely to anyone they wish. You were out in public.

Now, they can't legally take pictures sneakily to catch you unaware... the camera has to be visible so you know you are being captured. People also can't circumvent your personal privacy by aiming a camera in a way that takes pictures of parts of you that otherwise would not be seen.

But we also have laws for the most part against public nudity. However, IF we allowed public nudity... I believe our other laws would allow the photography of you in the nude while you are out in public to be permitted. I don't think they could craft a law that says "they can't take pictures of you nude even if you are out in public" without it being problematic logically.

In the US, though, a place like a sauna, spa, locker room, etc would be considered a private space within the public where you would be considered to have some privacy... and as such photos would generally be prohibited I would think based on that and not so much about nudity or not. As in, a photo of you fully clothed inside a spa wouldn't be permitted either.

We have some nude beaches and areas in the US, and photography is generally prohibited there by the people who run those private places. I don't at all know how it works in the countries where public nudity is permitted. I do kind of think, though, that in those cultures where nudity is more permitted that it isn't treated the same culturally and so those people are walking around uncovered in general and probably aren't bothered as much by people taking pictures of what they are fine showing every day anyway.

Nudity is kind of a puritanical holdover here in the US really. There is a sexual component to it... but it's not all about nudity.

Curiously, though, and very randomly... for as much as we rail (rightfully so) about protecting children from pedophiles... nudity of children is fairly allowed not just in public but in movies and on TV too.

I used to posit all the commercials that would show naked small children and say "what if" someone decided to crack down on that and stop it from being on TV... who would complain and fight against that? Seems like you should be concerned about anyone who would demand nudity of children on TV, no? Also all the people who used to have parents who took naked pictures of their young children and felt the need to show them to other adults and embarrass those kids as they grew up. That always was very weird to me even as a kid when this would happen.

As a society our views on nudity are kind of all over the place and hard to pinpoint.

In the US you have no expectation to a right of privacy in public.

As for loopholes- why do you think lawyers and contracts even exist in the first place? Also why do you think laws are written on paper and not in stone?
When you can afford a good lawyer, the color of the justice system takes on a very different hue.
