Some good picks in there. I haven't seen all but most of them. Had some of them on my to watch list but been putting them off. Will get around to them now you recommended them alongside the others.

Have you seen -

Magnolia (one of my all time faves)

The Killing of a sacred deer has two more films in the same 'universe' apparently. I forget the name of one of them but the first one is The Lobster. Well worth a watch. Also stars Colin Farrell.

Paddleton - is a good movie with a suicide theme

Creep - is a pretty unnerving guilty pleasure of a watch.

Reign over me - Adam Sandler in a decent serious role.

Punch Drunk Love - This is an absolute classic. Must see!

I'll have to come back to this after checking my film catalogue. I too have had a love affair with the dark tales. Also quite fond of post apocalyptic stuff but it's spattered with a lot of crap. When they get it right though I really enjoyed/enjoy it.

In the meantime I'll get around to Biutiful & Matyrs đź‘Ť Thanks.

not sure of the exact name for it but it's a trilogy - it features unbreakable, split, and Glass.

I recommend Jurassic World Dominion. Why? Because it's the main reason I'm alive right now and I'm going to see it today. No idea how good it will actually be but the director claims it's meant to be the culmination of all Jurassic Park films and end it perfectly which I think would be great if true.

I just love movies that end series or sagas well by bringing back all the elements that came before. Avengers Endgame was a good example because it really rewards anyone who went through all 20+ other Marvel movies even the stinkers like Thor 2. Idk. When I finished watching that movie I felt a very calming experience, like the story of my life was ready to end too. For Jurassic World Dominion to feel adequate though one would have to see all five other Jurassic movies (Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic World, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom). There's also a Netflix show Camp Cretaceous which actually ties into the Jurassic World movies as well so hopefully the stuff set up there also pays off with this movie.

I bought all 5 of the preceding Jurassic Park movies in a bundle recently so I can catch up on the lore! I have only seen the first Jurassic Park (1993). I know that is considered the best one by a long shot, but I think I will enjoy the Jurassic World movies as well since they have amazing special effects and cool dinosaurs. Really looking forward to getting through the original trilogy so I can see the massive underwater behemoth dinosaur in Jurassic World…was looking at a movie poster for it and I was like, "That looks so fucking cool."

Indy was my idol when growing up, so I must recommend "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" from 1984, for anyone who's interested in adventure movies (throw me the whip!)

If one is looking for hysterically funny, but strange, comedy, I'll recommend "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" from 2004.

For mysterious excitement, I recommend "Shutter Island" from 2010.

In case you are looking for a drama movie that will give you a "What the hell?!" reaction, I recommend watching "Enemy" from 2013.

For some psychological horror, I recommend "Split" from 2016.

Gladiator with Russell Crowe

I second this! Those who don't like "Gladiator" from 2000 are not entertained! You know what I mean

Fight club.

Shutter Island.

The first Matrix, obviously.

Dark City.

They Live.

Society (1989).

28 days later.

Sightseers.

Gladiator.

I actually enjoyed Prometheus, don't hit me.

Midsommar, Memento, Cabin in the Woods and Hereditary are OK, not amazing.

The Lighthouse has been the only movie I've seen in the last 5 years that has made a deep impression on me. Super bleak stuff but with moments of hilarity as well. Wonderful performances. Cool location. Compelling atmosphere. Etc. It's great. The Witch, the previous movie from the same director, is also quite good. Sad that his newest movie, The Northman, was pretty much trash.
