Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I read a book about David Foster Wallace who wrote a book about math.

There is an interesting passage: "Richard Feynman complained in The Character of Physical Law that it was "impossible to explain honestly the beauties of the laws of nature in a way that people can feel, without having some deep understanding of mathematics. And any attempt to explain science without math, Feynman said, was like teaching music to the deaf."

Do you think this is true? I think I will remain an intellectual sucker till the end of my life because math and statistics bore the shit out of me. They make me really depressed.

One question is whether this statement also applies to non STEM subjects.

What do you think?

That analogy doesn't even work since a lot of deaf people possess some form of musicality. There are deaf musicians. Deaf people can still enjoy music by doing things, such as feeling the vibrations of it.
