So before I go any further.... Hi!
Just joined, unfortunately after going through the worst time that can be imagined for me.

My chosen method, for the moment,is partial hanging. I was sure today was the day, and so I took some rope, made the knot, tied it to the door handle and threw it over. Put it round my neck in a kneeling position and leant outwards. I got a congested feeling in my face, followed by waves of disorientation. It didn't feel painful or uncomfortable at all. After about 20 seconds I noticed that my hearing was getting queiter and queiter. I had already closed my eyes so I don't have any idea what my vision was like.

Just wanted to know if that was the start of my brain succumbing to the lack of oxygen? I probably would have passed out and CTB if I continued to be in the same position. Something just didn't feel right so I stopped.

I'm going to think this through again tonight, maybe change my method or approach. I'm in no rush to do this as I have comfort in knowing that my pain now is only temporary.

Cheers for any advice or experience that anyone might have!

I am sorry you had an unsuccessful try but thank you for sharing the experience.
It was likely the effects of reduced blood flow.

I've never attempted hanging personally. It does sound like a difficult method and I would fear it going wrong in some way. There are hanging megathreads and resources on here which have information. I really wish that it is easier to leave this world. I envy all those who succeed with this method. I hope that you find relief from your suffering and I'm sorry for whatever brought you to this point. Life can certainly be cruel

Man, I've tried this shit probably 100 times for 30-40 minutes at a time and it only ever makes my ears start ringing and my head feel like it's gonna pop. I feel like some people's carotid is just situated such that partial hanging is a physiologically improbable outcome. I understand the fear associated with it as I struggle with this myself, but I think full suspension is the only reliable way for someone in the aforementioned camp to succeed with hanging.

Sorry u had to go through this. Partial is also my method. 20 seconds sounds a bit long imo... If you don't mind me asking, did you get any marks on your neck after attempting, if so are they already gone? Have long until they went away?

Thank you for your kind words. That's what I'm thinking too. Was a weird but strangely calm experience.

Thank you! It's nice to hear "strangers" good wishes. I need a freind right now!

I don't think it's too difficult, just that there's a real technique to actually succeeding. Thank you for your well wishes though. I really feel uplifted by them!

Wow! That's a long history....
To be honest, there was no real head popping feeling, just tingles in the cheeks and that reduced senses experience I was describing.
I hope things do get better for you in whichever way you may feel appropriate!

There's no need to apologize for asking. I developed some very minor red marks around my neck, there now gone though, in the space of about 4 hours.

I do have some lingering head pressure/headache and a feeling of pressure behind the eyes, cheeks, ears and neck if that also helps.

But yes, 20 seconds seems a little on the long side, but it was oddly peaceful and in no way something I was suffering through.

Thank you for caring though. It's nice to hear that people are around who get the struggle! Best wishes to you too!
