Venting Feeling bad about killing a spider

This black widow is on my porch and I would let it be but it spun a massive nest right where I usually walk through...and if it has babies they are gonna be in my place.
I wanted to smash it quickly but I have nothing handy, the web is quite a 3d thick mess so it would be a challenge.
Instead I rained down on it with a household chemical attack. She actually survived two nights of scrubby bubbles. It was vinegar and alcohol based window cleaner that seemed to do the trick tonight.

But it feels so inhumane and awful.
Given my own suffering and torment and shouting 'why' up at the uncaring universe. Maybe we are pests to cosmic harmony which is why...
A hypocrite I am. Going vegan doesn't fix anything. But it also sucks knowing the animals we eat are borderline tortured beyond all imagination living in Cowschwitz. Fuck nature's cruelty and fuck my own cruelty and fuck my pathetic curse of empathy to top it all off.

Spiders are probably not conscious so they are morally insignificant, they can be treated as objects, aliens might think the same of us if they are sufficiently intelligent though so who knows.

The stuff we do to cows is absolutely horrific though, and I don't mean killing them, I mean breeding them and forcing them to live in awful conditions, I believe death is always a benefit and since cows aren't sapient and have no right to their own bodies or lives I'd say it's moral to hunt them in the wild.

Somehow I found myself supporting veganism and hunting simultaneously.

If your definition of dangerous is something that can cause a painful bite that can lead to nausea, chills, fever, muscle cramps and spasms, stomach and body pain, shock, and severe high blood pressure, then this species of spider is definitely dangerous.

Never feel bad for acting in self-defense. They wouldn't do the same.

Oh hell no. Fuck black widows. I've dealt with them plenty down here and they don't deserve empathy. They're not sentient and don't feel pain, so who cares. But they will mess you up pretty good. You did the right thing.

take it outside u should not kill it it can feel pain going vegan helps animals.

I don't really feel bad for insects because they seem like robots, but it definetely makes me sad to consider that this spider has no chance at all. It is like me, thrown into an unforgiving world against unbeatable adversaries.

If I find a bug indoors I usually leave them alone if they are out of the way and not scary looking. Other's I catch in a cup and bring outside. If they encroach on my immediate surroundings, they are fair game and I kill them. Because black widows are dangerous and can make an infestation, I think you did the right thing under the circumstances.
