With PayPal your money is protected I thought? It's a hassle but you get refunded if goods don't show up
If it had been Western Union or bank transfer that's a different story and they can take off into the sunset with your cash. I'm sure though PayPal offers some sort of buyers guarantee

The gift option? I would still contact PayPal honestly. Say it was a mistake and went to the wrong person or something. For that amount of money I would give it a try anyway.

Hush, I got scammed by some 'online pharmacy' for a good amount as well. Don't blame meself for it at all, how is it my shame that others are crooks? It looked legit to me at the time, my mind was a bit occupied with my own fucking death!

Definitely hit up PayPal and tell them you were scammed, they're pretty reliable

I'd definitely do this especially if you paid PayPal via your debit card, even your credit card you are protected. That's why scammers hate using PayPal.

PayPal money as not gone. Look into your PayPal account and ask for a refund.
