You really shouldn't fear death. It's inevitable for us after all so there's no escaping it. I don't believe in any 'punishments' or afterlife. They are all just theories that people invented as they are in denial of the meaningless nature of existence.

I believe death to be peaceful nonexistence just like how before we were born where time passed and yet we were not aware of anything. We are simply returning to that state of non existence and to me this is ideal. Basically there is nothing to fear as we simply don't experience anything after this. Fear is a human emotion, the dead cannot fear anything as they lack the consciousness to do so. There is nothing more ideal than nonexistence, it's freedom from the burden that is existing, it removes all suffering and solves all problems.

Yes, there's a heaven and hell in the bible and I'm wondering if there really is a hell. Also a possible reincarnation into someone or something else entirely. I wouldn't want these, I just hope that when I die that it's just a blackout of darkness and nothingness like before birth.

yeah but how do you know you were not actually experiencing anything before you were born? There are some theories that say the soul is eternal and exists still once the body sheds itself

this is one of my biggest fears but if god loves us so much and is all knowing then he must see how much pain we are all in and love us despite our decisions. i don't think he could punish us for not being able to handle it, we are only human after all :( if he is real he knows what's in our hearts and i hope ultimately he allows us to be in peace with him after a life of pain.

i hope so too. Its hard to think that this is so black and white with suicide and hell

Personally, I don't believe in any afterlife, therefore I don't fear being punished for CTB. Where was I before an egg and a sperm got together? I have no recollection of anything before that time. I don't even have a recollection of being born, do you? I believe we come into existence at the time of conception, and we go out of existence at the time of death. It's the cyclical nature of this place. The real punishment is by trying to exist in this place.

Even though I got over my fear of hell, I still fear that I might have a worse life after I die when I reincarnate. Maybe there is just emptiness waiting and that is more comforting.

Yes. I'm terrified of what it will be like. I have been looking around for God all of my life, but never saw something to convince me into believing in Christianity. Yet for some reason when I think of death I immediately fear the torture of hell. Perhaps God left me behind a long time ago. Even if I died by means other than suicide, I still believe I would end up in hell. I never realized I was doing bad things so I never thought of myself as a bad person I guess. Just developed bad morals along the way somehow.

But death is weighing in on me quite heavily now. It has become my best option. I've burned every bridge before I even finished building it. I want so desperately to find out that it was all just a bad dream. That I'll snap awake and have a chance to do it all over again. But I'm only entertaining myself with these ideas. All I see in my mind are visions of being in purgatory, while I scream over my own lifeless body about what an idiot I've been. Probably spend the afterlife being aware of what it's like to be buried alive, but won't ever truly die.

I was terrified of it for years - I was raised Catholic so grew upon stories of eternal peace or hell which is what I could expect from suicide. Now I no longer fear it as it's merely a transition from consciousness to being unaware. That to me feels like a blessing. I'm more a coward, death isn't my fear, pain is my fear. I crave a painless death.

Sometimes I have fear, sometimes I don't, sometimes I feel a passion for death. In particular, sometimes I feel fear of nothingness - of the moment when I will disappear forever. I have matured enough, progressed and realized that I know that we are just one coincidence in the universe and that with our extinction, that possibility is extinguished and there is no continuation.

No, not scared--and there won't be any 'punishment' either, there won't be nothing
