Favorite video game music?

What is your favorite song/theme from a video game? For me, it's the majula theme from dark souls 2, the souls series in general has lots of great music but majula sticks out as the most ambient and aesthetically pleasing theme, alongside fitting really well with the tranquil nature of the hub area of the game. what about everyone else?

A solid pick. Honestly, there's such a library of amazing video game music, that I can't pick THE best. Especially considering how different these tracks can be in where they play and for what purpose. So I'll just share 4 that I could think of as SOME of my favorites, in no particular order:

My favorite From Software boss (theme) to this day. I love phase 2 especially - 1:58



A shame this track plays in only one area that you'll quickly abandon and never return to, but damn does it set the mood.



Sonic CD was the game that made me fall in love with OSTs in the first place. This is my favorite track from the JP version (and I love both).



To this day this track manages to pull at my heartstrings every time I listen to it. I love the regular version also, and a lot of other tracks...
Aaah, you see it's so hard I can't choose!!!

Agree with @NutOrat , it's so hard to pick, as there is so many good music around in video games, and, like with films, it's not only about how good the music is, but also what the game made us feel when that music was playing.

Yes!! This soundtrack is so good. It actually sounds rather similar to the song I want to share:

Blue Archive's soundtrack is so good, and I especially love their calmer songs like this one. I love the piano at the end.

Pretty much the entirety of the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack. But the intro song especially:

I really like some video game OSTs. A lot of times when they resemble classical music on some level. I also epic movie battle scene soundtracks from big movies (e.g. LOR). My friend Jay was the audio engineer for Bungee for the original Halo games.
I kind of liked the atmosphere of Halo ODST. Like walking through the city with smooth jazz playing, it was different.

I can't pinpoint my favourite VGM down to a single game/song, but I will say that I am very fond of Sega Genesis/Mega Drive music and Amiga music.

I remember humming along to this one time in high school and the kid next to me recognized it. We became fast friends. Hope he's doing well.

Honestly, the OG Legend of Zelda theme. I grew up with the series and have been known to shed a tear at the many beautifully orchestrated versions of this song.

I love the Rain World soundtrack, it's layered too, so while playing, different parts of the music play at different times which I think is quite cool, especially when the game gets intense.

My favourite though, is actually from a mod of the game. Snoodle - Howling Rift Threat Theme, the intro gives me the fear I love it.
