Favorite video game music?

I literally only listen to video game music so it's hard for me to pick my absolute favorites. Top 10, or even 20 wouldn't even do them Justice. For now I'll just try to share a few of them. I think my absolute favorite part about video game music is how often the same melodies and notes can be changed for different contexts. It feels sort of like people communicating the same thoughts in different languages.







And then there's the cases with more drastic differences but that just makes it even more rewarding once you connect that the themes are ultimately the same despite sounding so different.

The Eterna forest music to me is super calming :) My first ever DS game was Platinum back in the day, but the updated soundtrack in the Diamond/Pearl remakes is just as lovely

I cannot recommend enough music from this game, so I'll just recommend the game. This game has so many beautiful songs.

For those who know: see my profile picture.

For those who don't know: Rain World, base game but also mainly the Downpour DLC. I have yet to finish The Watcher DLC, so I cannot exactly comment on that.

But if I had to pick a few songs to listen to? It'd be these five. Out of them all? The last, Random Gods, will always be my favorite, despite how chaotic it is. Reclaiming Entropy also has a really nice cover of it on YouTube in the style of Hollow Knight's music.
