What's your favorite tool/object to use to self harm? For me... It used to be double-edged razor blades, the thin ones people use for shaving because they're so sharp and it's easy to go deep but after someone recommended an eyebrow razor then that became my new favorite.

I bought a facial razor today to try but I'm pretty sure its no different than an eyebrow razor (sharpness wise).

Double-edged razor blades. I find box cutter knives to feel too dull and uncomfortable and, while I like pencil sharpener blades, they are also just too dull. Scissors don't do shit, nor do most kitchen knives. I tend to find that razor blades provide me with the sharpness I need in order to be able to accurately control how deep I cut and they feel nice (as in they don't feel "rough" on my skin the same way box cutters do).

Double-edge razor blades. I don't think I have ever tried anything else besides cigarettes burns though. Still, razor blades are cheep and easy to find so I don't think I'll change them for anything else.

Though I have a decent knife for deeper cuts, I usually just stick to the serrated steak knives since they're easy to keep in the house, just got to sharpen them between uses since they get blunt quickly.

double edged razor blades for normal cuts and for "deep" ones i preffer the single edged razor blades. Boxcutters and knifes dont cut so well and i feel like i dont have "control" over my cuts that i do with razor blades.

So many replies about double-edged razors, I would be too scared to accidentally nick my fingers lol. I use the single-sided ones, cliche as it is. They work great.

In my sh I haven't ever used blades. I often think about them, but I'm scared to cross that line. My sh is blunt force. I hit my head. I used to use my fists, but I typically go for walls now. After some time I've become sensitive to the quality of the wall. The last time it was cement wall with a laminated covering. I find I fantasize about using a hammer, but I'm scared.

Regarding blades, I have a very sharp small Japanese kitchen knife that I rare use. I sometimes hold it, close to cutting, but I haven't yet.

My first ctb attempt was when I was 16 and tried to cut myself with a flat double edged razor. I skimmed the surface, but couldn't commit. This makes me feel I still couldn't, but I have the craving.

Booze or negative attention from loved ones brought onto myself on purpose. Or caffeine (I react to it really badly.)

Idk. I don't drink anymore though. But it was always my favorite. I feel like at a certain point, you find yourself in a cycle and when the thoughts of "I wanna feel better" collide with "I deserve pain" you find a lot of it is brought upon yourself. You can't want to be better and, well, not be. You have to make a choice.

a double edged razor blade, but honestly i really need to get myself a box cutter, the "nostalgia" of using it is so alluring since it was what i first cut with, but im doing my best to stay clean

i use this box cutter over here that i somehow discovered laying somewhere, i dont really do deep cuts with it since im so skinny it kinda hurts, but whenever im at my lowest some cuts actually helps with frustration.

My answer is probably gonna be the strangest and out of touch here. My favorite "tool" to self harm with is food, lol. I'm obese and eat unhealthy food a lot without restricting myself. Y'all understand it has dangerous consequences for a body. :^)

Btw, as a teen I used to cut myself with a razor blade but not deep. Now I don't like the sense of slicing skin.

Boring but double edged razor, I'm looking for other methods I would enjoy to add though because sh is all that is keeping me from ctb anymore and it has been deeply comforting.

I have also used burning either from matches or a lighter when I don't have access to a blade but I definitely don't prefer it.

As a teenager my most common one was breaking apart those plastic safety razors and using the small one sided blades inside. I also used blades from pencil sharpeners and at one point I was put in an inpatient hospital for several months and I would scratch my skin raw with my finger nails and then peel the scabs as well as punching concrete and tile. I also restricted food as a method of sh and feeling in control of my life which eventually led to an eating disorder so I definitely will not go back to that.

I quit for many years only relapsing every few months to once about 2 full years but within the past couple months and especially past couple weeks it has steadily increased to once again being a daily routine.

My main concern now is not doing anything that will/could lead to permanent damage e.g. cutting very deep, head banging, restricting food, punching things too hard, giving myself severe burns. I didn't care as a teenager especially because I planned to die before it mattered anyway. Now I only want to feel the clarity, calm, and comfort of it though not anything dangerous. I am on the fence about ctb but even if I decide to I could fail then any sh injuries would be just another thing to make my life worse.

I break open a razor, I enjoy how thin and effective they are! (Plus, there's usually multiple) It's so hard opening them though.
