  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

What is your favorite tv show or film that you believe accurately depicts mental illness of any form, or in general?

In the context of mental health, my picks are Euphoria for tv and Manchester by the Sea for film.

Generally, however, I am partial to sci-fi/Psychological horror. My favs in that arena are Arrival, and Annihilation, Us, and Get Out. For Tv, I've really enjoyed The OA, See, The Silo, Archive 81, Marianne, The handmaids Tale, Servant. I could honestly go on for days...

Well, I think the last samurai is my favorite movie. It depicts alcohol withdrawal and trauma pretty well. (although, I dont drink)

Oh boy, this one is nice. It's a fun pastime, probably one of my favorites, consuming media and trying to get inside the heads of people and figure out that's "broken" (for lack of a better term)

For TV shows, I'd have to say my top 3 will be Ozark, House M.D., and the Sopranos. No, I will not elaborate.

When we're talking about movies, I can give you like 50 that I really enjoyed, but I'll just name em off and be brief. Jacob's Ladder, We Need to Talk About Kevin, Joker, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Girl Interrupted, Donnie Darko, Buffalo 66, and Gummo.

For a little treat I'll throw you some video games as well, SH2 is an easy no brainer and my favorite, there's a million different forms of mental illness that are touched on, as well as the general side effects of trauma. Hell, the entire SH franchise is good for this. As far as games go, I'd also throw in MGSV (trauma and identity) and maybe RDR2 for good measure (depression and existential grief).

Tasteful. Cultured. Refined.

Every piece of media you've listed is peak. It just kept getting better as I continued reading. I appreciate that you listed video games as well—that is one element I left out accidentally, but it most certainly is of tantamount value to other media forms. Other notable games possessing mental health undertones include life is strange, the last of us, and silent hill 2.
