  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I've been testing my ability to fast for the past few months. So far I've gotten up to 6 full days max before I'm excessively miserable and need something to eat. Does fasting longer than the minimum recommended times for each method lessen the chance of throwing everything up and increase absorption, or will it work against me? I'm only asking because I've seen a handful of responses on sn threads stating that the food in your system is pretty much what you throw up. So what if there's zero food in your system? Does anyone have an educated opinion on this. Or any opinion for that matter?

Edit: I have all recommended antiemetics and so on. I just want to do everything in my power to make sure I never wake back up to this life once I close my eyes on that bus.

That's what I wanted to hear! Many thanks🙏
It's not true. Firstly there's no point in fasting more than 8 hours. Second, it aids fast absorption, and does nothing to prevent throwing up. That's what the antiemetics are for

Do you have evidence for this claim? Misinfo is bad enough anywhere on the internet, but even more so here. Even from my own personal experience, fasting longer (beyond a limit) doesn't help you keep drugs down better. This is not the first time I've seen this from you. I know you mean well but I request you do some research before posting advice.

@Fktw0rld , please refer to this post (among others on this forum). The understanding so far, is that anything beyond 8h of fasting offers no additional benefit, and is likely to be counter-productive.

Thank you for the reference. Damn! I was really hoping a longer fasting in conjunction with the recommended antiemetics would make the experience more tolerable. I've been researching high and low but don't really find anything other then fitness articles on intermittent fasting and things of that sort. I've even went as far as searching, "6 day water fast before ingested a poisonous substance" but never get anything relevant. I guess there's a science behind what exists in the stomach and what it produces naturally to aid absorbtion within specific time frames. Also pertaining to the whole acid/alkaline environment. I'll stick with the 8 hours. Thank you.

Well damn! In that case, I'll just enjoy my food and stick with the 8 hours. If absorption is happening regardless, and it's not going to do anything in regards to preventing regurgitation, it's not worth torturing myself with an additional 6 days of hunger leading up to d-day. Thank you.
