Family asking what my plans are for next year

how do you guys answer this question? I obviously lied, I don't plan on being here by the end of next year if I can help it.

This is a tough question. Especially when you know there isn't much time left. For me, I just give vague answers like "staying busy". It's kinda like when people ask me "how are you?" I always say "hanging in there" or "never better" (as in I'll never be better). Personal joke at my own misery.

I haven't enjoyed this Christmas and New Year. Also, the funny thing is is that they usually don't ask these types of questions, so I don't know why it was even brought up this year.

It was a tough question and it caught me
off guard a bit. My family don't usually ask questions like this so I don't know why they bothered this year. Also lol @ never better, I'm gonna have to use that one.
