Attempted a hanging at 3PM yesterday, Valentine's day. Valentine's is a pivotal day for me, it's the anniversary of mine and my ex-partner's relationship, and she ruined my life - I thought it would get better when I finally left - but the damage in my head is permanent.
I tightened the rope around my neck, after hanging myself from it by my hands to test its sturdiness - green light, no fraying, no breakages, cool. Pressed my neck into it until everything went black, and woke up on the floor five minutes later, rope still around my neck and a battered face, turns out the human body gets violent as it dies, because the rope was ripped clean in half. I'm very disappointed that I couldn't CTB on valentine's day, as that was the date I had picked out for months and months, and my last choice was taken away from me. So I've changed my mind, on Monday, 2 days time, I'll purchase a thicker rope from screwfix or toolbox or something and tie another hangman, then hang from the same ligature point I've set up.

yeah, I think people underestimate just how hard our body is going to fight suffocation or drowning or strangulation. Unfortunately those movements become out of our control since our body is going to do everything it can to survive. Sounds like you have a plan to get better results next time.

Oh poor you ! I feel so sorry for you, especially since I know how it feels....I failed my hanging in exactly the same way, everything goes perfectly, I happily sink into blissful unconsciousness....and then "bang!" you wake up as your head slams to the floor....I did not know about the body's violent reaction to the CO2 build up in the blood and the convulsions, writhing it triggers...it pulled the belt I used off my anchorpoint ! Better luck next time...or maybe take a step back and reconsider the method? Maybe our bodies get to upset as we hang and we'll never get there? I decided to change method in any case, not taking that risk of failure again !

I think you're very brave to attempt such a method; I haven't got the courage, though my sister in law successfully hung herself years ago. I tried overdosing, thinking it would be fairly quick and painless but I was wrong. I was found nearly 8 hours later alive and in agony with kidney and liver damage. I'm new here and this is my first post and I hope I haven't upset anyone or broken any rules. I just want to find a way out as painlessly as possible.
