Hey, I am interested in hearing about any of your experiences living abroad from your home country. I have never really been happy with my past or where I was born and have constantly been trying to escape it my living abroad. This has come with many problems, financially, with work, not speaking the language, cultural barriers etc BUT at the same time, I can visualise that I really think I could have been much happier being born into a different life in a different place. If it wasn't for so many struggles I have felt much happier in a different location.

What are your struggles with your own country and do you think you could be happier somewhere else? why? Do you have any experiences living abroad?

I don't think my contributions would be of much use, but I believe @Soul can offer you much valuable advice on this topic.

I've lived/worked in more than eight different countries, in the Middle East, the Far East and North America. Loved it! Even if I got lonely or depressed, I was never as down as I've beeen since before beginning to work abroad. Or since moving back "for good." I was working in the education sector and would still be globetrotting if I didn't change careers.

I worked with people from all over the world in each job, I learned new languages, ate new foods, travelled, was paid very well and was "special" when I visited friends and family for having done so much exotic stuff.

I miss it terribly. And, there being no chance to hop a plane or get an international visa anytime soon, I'm stuck with my memories and souvenirs.

If you can do it, do it!!!

Leaving my home country as soon as I left uni was the best decision I ever made. I've lived 2+ years in a few different countries in both Asia and Europe and then settled down for life as an ex-pat. There are miles of advantages besides seeing cool things and getting a better feel of different cultures than short-term visitors can. For me one of the greatest luxuries is that when I don't fit in I don't have to wonder about myself. I'm not crazy; I'm a foreigner.

I'm originally from China
and have lived in Australia and New Zealand.
Study+Work visas.

I can confirm that everything is better downunder, comparing to China at least.
Cultures, food, people, scenery, wildlife,
overall life quality is superior.

Living overseas is great it helps you become more independent, and help you gain new perspectives as well.
If you prefer staying in a country other than where you originally from, I urge you to do that.
People cannot choose which country they are born in, but it's good to emigrate away if you don't like it.

Nah, I don't, but a close family member relocated to Asia and they love it there. Learned the language and all.
