I am making this into a thread just in case anyone finds it useful.

I found out a few things that work for me while practicing partial. 1, a scarf (dupatta) works much better for me than rope. I have a soft nylon rope, 10mm but it is too painful somehow, even with padding. The dupatta is much more comfortable and I get closer to losing consciousness.

2, the best knot position for me is on the left side more in the front, somewhere under the left ear. Knot at the back is too painful.

3 - this is the most important. I came the closest I ever was today to losing consciousness. This happens when I put ALL of my weight down, suddenly. My feet where off the ground for a while. And unfortunately, it WILL be painful (was for me at least). If you are having no success with partial, and are not afraid of a bit of pain, try this... because very quickly the initial pain starts fading, I got a very pleasant tingly sensation all over my body and my vision started going black. It was a wonderful feeling. I am also a bit less afraid of full suspension now because I know the loss of consciousness will probably be quick, after the initial pain. I have practiced partial many times with no success but now it seems I am making some progress... the key is putting more pressure and getting past the pain. When I just put some pressure then all I get is a buildup of pressure in my head and it is very unpleasant. Don't be afraid of putting ALL your weight down

Hope this helps

Thank you for the advice. I have found that just under the left ear is exactly the best place to put the knot (I see you know your stuff!)

I will definitely keep this in mind when practicing. Just one question: what is dupatta?

Its a shawl-like scarf mostly worn by women in India

Putting your weight in all at once has been the key for me too. Night and day difference

Thanks you for the idea use a dupatta. I will try it too. Do you tie it simply to your neck, or do you use a loop?

I tie it with a slipknot... so it's a loop I guess

Nearly 100% of people who successfully cbt hanging use a slip knot. Highly recommended

I wanted to use the noose with a metal ring (on the end of a rope is fastened a small metal ring and a rope come through the ring. It is the best noose for easy tightening. It has not any resistence). But i think, it is not usable for a dupatta.

I think, it is only for a rope. A dupatta requires very big metal ring. And the bigger surface makes the bigger resistance. But maybe i try it too.
