Hello, I'm new to this forum after lurking a long time. I've had multiple attempts at hanging in the last few weeks, and I just can't seem to do it properly. I'm even more miserable now.

I've been thinking, if I were to get drunk, then tape a strong bag over my head and tie my hands, I should be able to black out and die with less panic right? I know I will still panic and feel awful, but in theory I'd pass out more quickly due to the alcohol. I'd like to hear from anyone who may have similar thoughts or who has tried this themselves. Thank you

If you are not heavily sedated you will tear the bag off. This can happen either before or after losing consciousness.

The probability of success is low.

As the person above wrote, you will simply tear the bag during the process.
It does not matter whether you do it consciously or subconsciously.

Alcohol will not help much in this scenario.

Even with the hands tied (as mentioned by the OP)? :pfff:

heh, to be honest, I didn't notice that while reading.

But still, in such a scenario, it would be an unpleasant method prone to errors.
Most likely, the OP would start to panic a lot and could, for example, free his hands.
In the act of panic, he could also cause the bag to slip off if he starts making very vigorous movements.
He could also puncture the bag in some way.
He could even bite through the bag.

Plus, of course, the whole process wouldn't be a smooth journey.

Let's be honest, the OP could run into troubles with tying just because of being drunk )

I'd suggest to consider asphyxiation with cheap difluoroethane instead of using alcohol for the purposes of quick shutdown and avoiding discomfort.

Hi all, thanks for your replies. I did attempt this method and it was indeed a colossal failure so I wouldn't recommend trying.
On a related note, would alcohol help with the process of hanging? I've tried so many times but find it extremely painful and have never come close to blacking out. I was hoping the booze could be used to smooth things along?
