Venting Excuse from a prolifer to keep me alive

Yesterday a prolifer from a depressive group on Fb told me I shouldn't ctb because I must have a girlfriend, form a family and have children. Imagine how angry I got. Sometimes it surprises me. They think that life it's a list of things to do (go to school, get a job, get married, have children, die). It makes me upset when I think about that.

You'd think we'd know better than to get all worked up over this type of remarks. But they are so infuriating and invalidating, it's hard to keep your head cool sometimes.

For what it's worth, I think that's just about the worst argument anyone could give against suicide. It's an utter non-sequitur.

Well, life is just this list of things that need to get done. What's important is that one should feel happiness and enjoyment out of completing this list, not struggle and pressure as we do in our situation. That's what most people don't see. What good is having a child if you will be so depressed that you won't be able to teach him what is important in this world? What good is having a good house if all you think about is how you are going to hang from its ceiling?

I don't frequent many pro-life spaces because they infuriate me as well. Talk about such ignorance and callousness! I will never get their logic (or lack thereof) and neither will they understand (nor wish to understand) our plight. Sometimes, when I lurk around (I wouldn't even bother posting because I don't want to make myself a target) it just shows me even more reason and motivation to CTB. Anyways, I'm sorry to hear about how these pro-lifers piss you off and I hope you are able to find peace and stay away from them.

EXACTLY my point. I am worth more than this torture i am going through fighting to stay alive, i value myself enough to know that my quality of life is bad enough to call time on it. Why do people think its ok for us to suffer as long as we remain alive? doesn't make sense to me.
