Posts like these always show how much of my body I take for granted. Even mild health issues can do a number on your quality of life.

I am sorry you have to deal with that.

Thanks for your response. Pain is subjective, so please do not undermine the pain that YOU go through.

Sending you tons of love and light. I hope you have a great weekend. x

My circulation is also bad. If you don't mind looking it up, that would be great! Thank you. x

i found this from google ;

"The most commonly used medications for managing excessive sweating are anticholinergics. These include medicines such as: glycopyrrolate, oxybutynin, benztropine, propantheline, and others. Many hyperhidrosis patients experience success with anticholinergic therapy."

heroin stopped me feeling temperatures so i wouldn't sweat, but that i would not recommend, paracetamol also helps regulate temperature so could help.

oxybutynin is what i was specifically going to use whilst on the methadone, now im clean of all drugs :) so i don't need it.

i hope this helps, im a bit of a pharmacology nerd so dm me if you want anymore info

Thank you for your kind words. Pain being subjective and unique to everyone is one of the things we all should understand.

@SuicidalSymphonies Hey, I saw a video on YouTube some time ago. It was about a woman whose feet sweat so bad her skin started to rot. A doctor suggester her treatment which kinda helped her. She used something like electrical stimulation or so. You probably know about this already but I thought I'd bring it up.

I understand your condition sucks, I really do hope you find a suitable treatment.

Surprisingly it did for me. I just wish I could find something for my back as my back sweats a lot and pretty easily
I've used Driclor/Anhydrol Forte on my back, top of my shoulders, and side of the neck (where you normally apply perfume/cologne) in the past. It worked great. This was when we had that heatwave and it was 32c+, but I only used it there for 2 weeks, so I'm not sure if it's safe/good to use for longer periods.

I even used a little on my forehead during the heatwave, it stung a little bit because the skin is thinner/different, but at least I could go out without looking like I'd got caught in the rain! :pfff:

I began chronic blushing when I hit puberty which lasted for years basically ruined my life until I got an operation a surgical procedure called endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) its also used to treat hyperhidrosis. It involves cutting the nerve that runs along the rib cage in my case it was 100% successful one of the very few things that actually worked in my life!
Yes, when I work out, I sweet more than normal people!
I used to play a dancing game called "Pump It Up" and oh my gosh, I sweated so much that people wouldn't come close to me lol.
Still, not a reason to ctb. It's just sweet and a good deodorant/antiperspirant always helps.
Excessive sweating is nothing to do with normal sweating in an exercise situation and people do become suicidal with this condition

I can be sitting in a cold room and still be sweating like a pig. It's so bad that every single one of my shirts has permanent pit stains and nothing I do can stop the sweating. Definitely one of the myriad of reasons I wanna CTB. I always feel dirty as hell even when I'm clean

I feel you. I'm a girl and I sweat a ton, it's very embarrassing. Mine is mostly on my back and underarms. It was especially bad during grade/high school, since we didn't have air conditioning in our schools. Plus I've always been kinda fat so that doubles the sweating.

In college I started using Certain-Dri for my underarms, it works really well. It doesn't stop the sweating completely, but the stains are much smaller and I don't feel all weird and wet all the time. I also try to leave my hair down in the summer to hide the back stains. You can use a bookbag also, but they're awful if you have to go indoors at all. In school, I used to sling my bookbag on one shoulder during the summers to keep from making a huge stain. I also try not to wear a purse either during hot days. Also of course not wearing cotton (or God forbid, light-colored cotton) if I knew I was gonna sweat!

I can only imagine how stressed I'd feel if nothing could reduce the sweating at all. Definitely consider saving for the Botox for hyperhidrosis if it's an option for you. It sucks that these procedures are so expensive even though they can cause such clear impairment to someone's life. Idk in what world where sweating through paper is something you just have to deal with, when treatments exist that could improve your quality of life tremendously.

Best of luck to you!

I've suffered from hyperhidrosis for like the half of my life as well. My body goes into fight or flight mode in social situations, especially with people I don't know. Nowdays I sweat from everywhere but the worst area is my palms and it causes me to avoid situations where I might be exposed. It's one of the main reasons why I'm suicidal. I've had botox injections in my palms before and it hurts really bad. For some reason they don't give much numbing for the pain beforehand here. There are a lot of nerves in the palm, it's the worst pain I've experienced so far. It isn't helping that much anymore anyway and I don't know if it's worth the effort. Here's a photo of my palm after the treatment:

I've tried oxybutynin but had to stop because it caused problems with my vision (I was unable to focus when looking things from a short distance).

Does anybody else here have excessive sweating?

Once I hit puberty, I started to sweat badly on my palms and soles, as well as other places but those aren't so bad. The sweating interferes with my daily life. It is hard to hold things, write and not make the paper wet.. As well as I am always wearing socks so that I don't slip from my own sweaty feet.

This has been a massive problem in my life and I've even thought about chopping off my hands and feet. (Just thoughts).

It also makes professional atmospheres awkward as I cannot shake hands with anybody and if I do, I feel disgusting and unclean even though my hands ARE clean.

It's definitely a solid trigger for my suicidal thoughts and is a big reason as to why I'd like to ctb..

If anyone else knows how this feels, please share your experiences!

Yes, I have hyperidrosis on my hands and feet as well. I completely understand, it isn't pleasant at all. Sometimes I cannot hold stuff at all. When I used to play pc games I couldn't hold the mouse and I was losing, lol. One time I left uni early in the morning because I couldn't write. It's not easy, but now it's the least annoying of my problems. I'm sorry
it's the reason for you to go. It definitely lowers your quality of life. There are some medical gateways though, IN CASE you don't know. I would hate to be that person that recommends stuff you've already tried

I know what do you mean, I have this problem for a decade or longer. My hands sweats literally at the sheer thought of sweating. It's the reason I don't read books, write, draw, or do just anything related with paper. This is also why I avoid meeting people, so I don't have to shake hands (people notice).

It's truly a burden, I avoid other people, can't pursue my hobbies and it's just such a big inconvenience in daily life. I've tried botox and I can tell you it works. I did it twice, the effect stays for around six months or so. I would do it again, if I hadn't lost my job. Give it a try if you can afford it.

Thank you,Ive tried breathing and meditation for the anxiety which does help a little but it's a kinda short lived. I keep a sweet, like haribo or something tucked inside my lip to stop my mouth getting dry which helps as one of the main symptoms of my anxiety is gagging but not actually throwing up. The haribo seems to help that Ive been doing it for years.

Ive been pretty much anxiety and depression free for a couple of years now but a recent bad break up has knocked me back to square one. If I dont come out the other side of it soon Im out of here,I cant keep going through these feelings x

I often have this feeling of gagging without actually throwing up. Does this trick with sweets really effective?

For me it really works yeah,it could be a placebo but it stops my mouth from getting dry and gives me some juice to swallow. I have been using it when I need to for about a decade.

Im in the UK and use wine gums,I just hold it between my teeth and my bottom lip,I can make one sweet last for a couple of hours. Might be worth a try.

That was one of my reasons too, I tried medical deodorant and stuff like that but it didn't work. Then I tried some anticholinergics and one of them called oxybutynin worked for me, too bad it got discontinued here and no alternatives are being supplied. But yeah, anticholinergics, beta blockers and benzos have anti swearing side effects and you should talk to your doctor about it and see if any of the options can help you
