Everything is also extremely pointless to me. I've always seen existence as being a cruel burden unfairly inflicted on us and there really is no point to enduring day after day of endless misery just to die anyway. Staying alive only ever prolongs suffering, so of course it would be ideal to finally be free from the prison that is existence. And yet with all of the cruelty that exists in this world, people still label it as being 'mentally ill', to want to escape from it all. How could it be rational to want to suffer, and suffering is simply inevitable in life.

It's amazing to me how most people will gladly and whole-heartedly run in circles, doing some variation of the same thing every day until they die.

I hear older people discussing their doctor's appointments and various medications with great fervor. Little kids wanting some new toy or game they'll grow bored of in no time. Teenagers spending their afternoons scooping ice cream or stuffing fries in a box. Middle-aged adults spending the better part of the day (and their lives) sitting at a desk, waiting on a paycheck that's going to be gouged by the IRS, then all the other multi-billion dollar entities like the bank that holds the lien on their car.

Perfectly fucking content to stay on the hamster wheel. And they'll argue with you until they're blue in the face that it's a blessing for them to have the chance to do it. Their definition of "blessing" is pretty damned lame.

To try and justify life, they'll tell you about some moment where their kid made them smile or how they watched a pretty sunset... As if that's good enough to offset the IRS deductions and hemorrhoids.
