Itching can easily be dismissed as an insignificant discomfort. Not in my case. Itching is an utter none stop torture. Forget about all the other awful ways that makes me suffer. If I kill myself it would be because of this itch. FML.

People underestimate how much itching can affect your life. I have eczema and lots of allergies that cause me to break out into hives. Sometimes the urge to itch keeps me up at night it's so intense. It's torture

The worst is when my hands are literally tired from scratching and the skin is very hot from scratching that more scratching doesnt do anything to help the itch and i just freeze there in pain and still itchy like hell but cant even scratch because it feels worse now. Thats absolutely the worst hell i cant describe and no one will understand how bad it feels. It is literal insanity. Thats maybe what I need to finally fucking end this existence. Fuck being a living being, fuck the douchebag in heaven and his fucked up world and everything in it

My bf has this problem too and he says that it's agony. He asks me to rub his back a lot but also putting lotion on his back after he gets out of the shower seems to help him a lot. I use CeraVe or Eucerin instead of perfumed lotions

Itching is its own level of Hell.

I had shingles in my 20s and for a *month* afterwards, while my nerves healed, my entire body itched 24/7.

I currently have long covid and my main symptom is itching.

That sounds very horrible. Nobody should have to suffer like that. It is awful how there are an unlimited amount of health conditions that exist. I wish you the best.

I have a very bad skin condition. I started feeling itchy almost everywhere since I was 5. Now I am 36 and all the itching intensified 100 times with other ugly skin symptoms. Nothing helps. For a week the itching got so much worse. Idk why but it just became a ravenous monster. It is like fire that keeps consuming but never gets full and the more it you give it the hungrier it gets but if you ignore it too it also gets hungrier. WTF is this bullshit

Man, I follow the eczema subreddit. It's amazing how many posts will hint at wanting their life to end. I had it really bad on my chest to the point of my doctor wanting to biopsy my nipple. I was so happy at the prospect of having something cancerous. No dice. Benign growth. Eczema is the worst shit. My neck and face is where I would get it the most. I couldn't turn my head without feeling as if I were in fire. My brother used to make fun of me and call me a leper. Kids at school would always ask what's wrong with my face. Seems to get worse with stress.

I feel you with this one. When my nerve pain killer starts to wear off before im
Allowed to take another the head to toe itching starts. Coupled with the sensation of 'crawling' over my skin. It's horrendous and it only affects about two hours of my day. Can't imagine how it feels for prolonged periods but I expect it's hell.
I really dont want to kill myself :'(
Have you tried pregabalin ?

I'm sorry you're go through this. I suddenly developed intense itching all over my body a few months ago. I never experienced anything like this before. It will go away for a few hours but it keeps coming back. I hope you can get some relief.

I didnt. I will see if I can get it. I am really super desperate for any relief
Lyrica is a controlled substance so the doctor might hesitate to give it to you. You'll see. I might talk to my bf's doctor about his itching too

Also--diphenhydramine [OTC in most countries] has helped me with the long covid itching.

yes it is. But if OP is honest with how this itching is affecting their life then I'm sure they would consider it. If they won't , ask to be referred to a skin specialist. They would prescribe accordingly

I really don't want to kill myselg either. But my poor health forces me to contemplate ctb. There's only so much a person can take when one's body doesn't function properly.

I am really sorry you have this horrible problem. It sounds like hell!!!!

Hey OP, I use this korean skin care product that you might want to look into. It's called ISAL cream. It's extremely effective, but expensive. I think the severity of your condition might have you using the product a lot more than the average user, so it will be even more costly.

I buy mine on ebay. It's $50 for 0.7oz (yes, very expensive), but you can buy a 3 pack for $119.99.

Edit: I recommend it to anyone else having major eczema issues.

What about aloe vera gel. That usually calms down itchiness and it is cheap. Oh and a good antihistamine may help as well.
