  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I've often wished humankind was advanced and caring enough to have places that anyone could go to if they decided they wanted to end their life. It would be done in a peaceful, pain and stress free way. Those who were able and willing could donate their bodies to science or for organ donation to save lives. As I write this I wonder if there's an place in the world where this could happen or by forming a new country some where? I know the vast majority if not all of us here could benefit from such a place. A bonus would be helping to control population which is just now being accepted as part of the discussion around climate change.

Anyone else have thoughts about such a place?

Absolutely. I think that in the best of all possible worlds, such a facility must exist. The best kind of death, in my book, is one chosen by the individual. Sadly the current global zeitgeist still views suicide as a disease to be cured or even a crime, so there's still some more cultural shift that needs to happen. Whenever I see individuals campaigning for or debating about the right to die, I feel some great hope for our future.

In the best possible of all worlds, they've engineered themselves to feel happy all the time and feel no need to catch the bus.

I think you may be right about that actually. And I love that video, I resonate with it immensely. I'm praying that one day the world will be free of suffering.

I completely agree. A right to a peaceful death should be a basic human right. We never asked to be alive in the first place anyway. It would make life more bearable in general, knowing there was always a way out. They won't even legalise it for terminal illness in my country. There is still too much stigma towards suicide, but many countries are starting to change their attitudes, and it is becoming legal in more places, which is positive.
