Discussion Employment in retail while waiting to ctb

Does anyone else work in retail?
I always feel so fake going in there with a happy face and talking to people like I don't have a care in the world and that i'm so happy.
Although, some of the people there really do make me feel like I should move my date closer. They talk to me like I'm stupid. Before I set my date to ctb it would really get to me but now I just apologize with a smile on my face, knowing that they're just fueling a fire they can't even see.
Anyone else feel like this sometimes?

Very sorry to know you are in such a pain. I feel sorry for you. It would have been good if people realise they are talking to a human with emotions and not to a non-living thing. Today, this made me to do a self-check if I am dealing with everyone properly:)

I didn't work in retail, but I do know that pain just from an office environment. I even had my boss in interrupt me once when I was working through my chosen method to ctb in my head at work, and tell me she doesn't know how I stay so happy and smiley all the time when work is so tough!

I too reached the point where I just smile at people now and just take whatever comes as I know my time is limited.

If I had to work in retail I'd be dead already. Full suspension is nothing compared to the abhorrent pain and aggravation of talking to people all day, every day. I'm not kidding.

Nothing like faking happiness for minimum wage. Fuck that. You should get a better job. At least try to get a job as a PSW Or DSP that way you can get payed to play all day with double min wage and have good benefits rather than sell stuff.
