There are a few artificial lakes in the city I live and a few natural lakes in various regions in the country, some are near mountains, there are also rivers. I think drowning is one of the most certain deaths. If I go to a lake, whether an artificial or a natural one, how can I make sure I die? I know I have to make sure no one sees and saves me. Another thing is I know how to swim, if I didn't know how to swim it would have been easier to drown. Can I wear a heavy backpack on my back, tie it to my torso in order to make sure I don't go up to the surface when I'm in the water, and also tie my hands and legs with a rope or with shoelaces? If I don't find a rope then I think shoelaces might also be fine. But if I tie my hands and legs before entering the water while also having the heavy backpack on me I don't know how I would enter the water after that. Maybe I would have to jump until I enter the water. What do you think about this?

Drowning is extremely painful. Don't make your final moments agonizing like that.

Then what methods do you suggest? I know drowning isn't peaceful, I read about it, you most likely suffer although it's also a fast death, it takes a few minutes to drown and it's one of the most certain deaths maybe along with jumping and gunshot to the head, there might be other certain deaths as well but these are the ones I can think of right now. I'm afraid of jumping and getting a gun is very difficult here, so they're not really options for me. I don't know for sure if I'll drown myself but it's an option if the suffering is too much and I want to be certain I die and I don't survive. I don't think drowning is the worst method, it's not peaceful but there are other ways to die worse than this

I'd imagine the best way would be to attempt to get hold of a small boat and get well out from shore, then strap a backpack with stones or a weight to your chest and jump out as far away from the boat as you can manage. Keep swimming away from the boat as long as you can, so that when survival instinct kicks in you'll not manage back.

What about the way I described it in the original post? Can that work as well?

As others have said, drowning is said to be painful, it would certainly be distressing prior to losing consciousness.

In terms of the method. Sure, a heavily weighted back pack and tie hands and feet. Cable ties would be much easier than tying knots - loosely start them, slip over your wrists and pull tight with your teeth.

Seriously though, there are peaceful methods to explore first my friend.

I wouldn't know, it sounds a bit over complicated to me, to be honest. The simpler the better to my mind, less to potentially go amiss. All you need to do is get into water deeper than you can stand up in far enough from the shore or a boat for you to swim to safety. The heavy weight tied to your chest will assist in keeping you face down when you tire.
That's my theory at least.

It would be more difficult to tie a weight to my chest because I would have to tie it from my back without seeing the rope, so I'm not sure if I can do that, it would be easier to tie a backpack to myself by wearing it on my back, it should work in preventing me from coming up the surface when I'm in the water and I drown

I had just been thinking of a rucksack type backpack, with shoulder straps, and just placing the weighted pack on my chest, threading my arms through the straps. If uncertain about how secure the pack was I'd just loop a length of cord or rope around the pack and my body, tying it at the front.
However, whatever will work will work, best wishes.

I agree with the people saying it's an awful death. The terror will be so overwhelming. I'm not sure you can comprehend. Not a good way to go at all. That being said, for your situation, I don't know what alternative is there, so I'm not sure if just telling you not to go by drowning is a great idea. But I wish you peace in your final moments. So I am not too happy about this method.

Any other opinions about this? How can this method work?
What is the most common way of preventing undesirable movements in patients during surgery operations at modern hospitals?

A) Just tell the patient that they shouldn't move in a hope that this instruction will be followed despite probable significant discomfort.

B) Constrain the patient on the surgical chair or bed, so they won't be able to move due to the mechanical restraints.

C) Induce proper analgesia or anesthesia in the patient, so they won't experience any somewhat significant discomfort and in some cases will be paralyzed.

So far your drowning plan resembles the option B. If I were going to drown myself, I'd rather try to reproduce what was done by this man

It's likely that the last thing he was able to feel consciously is euphoria.
